KUALA LUMPUR: Daikin Airconditioning (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd aims to sell more than 30,000 units of its new R-32 refrigerant air conditioning models, which feature low environmental impact, within a year.
Daikin launched the R-32 refrigerant model in Japan in November 2012, where more than one million units had been sold.
It will be available at its 400 authorised dealers in Peninsular Malaysia next week and in Sabah and Sarawak three weeks later.
Together with the R-32 launch, Daikin also launched its new
high-end air conditioner, Urusara 7, in an effort to promote green technology.
“There were some difficulties in regulations because of the classification of the products in some countries, which delayed the launch.” said its finance manager William Ch’ng.
The R-32 model was developed to have zero impact on the ozone layer, and this can reduce the global warming potential by one third when compared to the conventional refrigerant model R410a.
