wow, u sure?? firmware control charging rate instead just dummy hw control??  hmm.gif
*
What is dummy hw control. Kernel is not firmware. Kernel can change charging rate.

donno, never dig into the n2 hw schematic... the charging port normally just fully hw control and i dont think the manufacturer soo generous to give you sw controlable charging hw as it all about $$$ cost saving...  whistling.gif

Added on November 8, 2012, 11:53 pmanyone have the n2 Level3 service manual?
*
True it depends on how much the pc usb port can give but samsung phone charging rate can be changed. Its been done in the S2. It is not software change per say, as it changes code in the kernel that controls the hardware of the phone. No normal user can change or any app can change. Need hardcore coding.

Perhaps sifu is used to a different kind of device control behaviour. Well, in a sense, kernel can be considered firmware where devices like phones are concerned.

There's some specifiable switch in build.prop or an init.d script or a kernel compile switch that can increase allowable charging voltage.
*
It need to be done in kernel coding. build.prop/init script is only applicable if the kernel chef make it configurable to users.

the only reason for sw controlable would be enable/disable charging like an on/off switch (useful for sw control power up, reboot sequences)... but charging rate i don't think so... hmm.gif
*
Its been done and proven with amp meter before. But the charger charging is mainly fixed. What is usually changed is charging through USB and other sources which is set way lower than what the battery can take to protect the pc usb port. Hence it still can be increased.

from these statement it mean the main controller are selecting which mode of charging (either USB lower current charging or Power plug charging), as u said the kernel mod is bypassing this selection and from there i can foresee you are risking to damage your usb device as the phone will draw full current from the port although the default is to protecting it... big no no man...  shakehead.gif
do u really think they let the big daddy to let those huge charging current flow through the pricey SOC?? the Exynos will only do those low current logic control signal to drive the power driver... and as mention by antt00 they only included simple selection of usb/powerplug charging and not those high accuracy charging rate controlling...  icon_idea.gif
*
The selection is still usb. Just the charging rate for usb had been increased. Yes there is a risk of frying the pc usb port. But hey I did not make the kernel. Just informing the other guy why his charging is slower now he changed kernel. Its always a risk trying custom kernel. tongue.gif

it's needed to be known that modding come with risk, so if u're not sure what u're doing u better study harder on the subject... hahahahaha tongue.gif

Problem is most dun want to read leh. doh.gif The change for usb charging for perseus kernel to 900mA (which i think is still safe for usb 3.0 ports, dunno how it will perform for older usb ports sweat.gif ) is the freaking FIRST LINE of the recent changes. sweat.gif

what's the different between baseband version and build number? in baseband version, the code is LJ1 and build number there's LJ3
*
Baseband is your modem which is what links to your telco (eg calls, data, sms etc...) Build number is your rom version.

I think you meant "still cannot get over my fears to root". Cos the rooting process is just like ABC and takes only minutes.

Hi all, im the owner of note 2 for 1 week plus and i found one problem on my mobile data signal. I experience 2 times where my phone cannot detect any signal for the data and tried to swift on and off for the mobile data but still no signal. However i tried reboot for both time and my phone can detect the signal already. Wonder is there anyone else having the same problem like me?
*
Do not have this problem. Maybe problem with your simcard or the telco or something else.

any 1 found the font on s2 look like not sharp / look blur ?
*
Why dun u go to phone shop and test the phone yourself. Stand there for few hours and test kaw kaw tongue.gif see if you like the screen or not. Font can be change that is not an issue. Its best you judge yourself instead of relying only on review cos in the end it is u who is using it.
