donno, never dig into the n2 hw schematic... the charging port normally just fully hw control and i dont think the manufacturer soo generous to give you sw controlable charging hw as it all about $$$ cost saving...

batt charging circuitry are only controled by those universal batt charging controller, what the reason to allow the sw to control the charging rate while u can just pop a chip and let it do the job?? hahaha...

the only reason for sw controlable would be enable/disable charging like an on/off switch (useful for sw control power up, reboot sequences)... but charging rate i don't think so...

Added on November 9, 2012, 12:04 amthose so call batt controller are un-accesible through internal sw wiring, if u wanna mod it u need to manual access to it physically... also if u play with those the batt anytime can get blown up due to u might screw up the safety limit on those Li-on batt itself... big no no

from these statement it mean the main controller are selecting which mode of charging (either USB lower current charging or Power plug charging), as u said the kernel mod is bypassing this selection and from there i can foresee you are risking to damage your usb device as the phone will draw full current from the port although the default is to protecting it... big no no man...

do u really think they let the big daddy to let those huge charging current flow through the pricey SOC?? the Exynos will only do those low current logic control signal to drive the power driver... and as mention by antt00 they only included simple selection of usb/powerplug charging and not those high accuracy charging rate controlling...

hehehe... better u warn them on the risk if not later someone "might" burn their iMac PRO... LOL

it's needed to be known that modding come with risk, so if u're not sure what u're doing u better study harder on the subject... hahahahaha

yup, is everythings meet your requirement there's no need for mods... as when modding you donno whatelse actually you've been wrongly tweak and "might" cause any un-forseen defects...

but something do bother me would be those wakelock issues and not sure the n2 will be having it or not as for n1 i do face it before due to modding and force to reset the device...

n1 are very prone to wakelock, mean the device sit idling but the power consumtion keep depleting without any clear reason...

in droid world the rabbit hole are far far far far far more & more & more & more deep deep deeper compare to others OS... hahaha time to learn bro, i'm also plan to keep the n2 for longer period to explore the droid world...

mkv only the container, check the av codec within...

as told, what important is those av codec encoded within, try check up on the spider man original av codec then you'll know what work and what not...

is seem even quadcore n2 still lacking some codec support huh... bad bad bad, maybe sooner someone will come out a codec package for n2...

hahaha... "sometimes" i do feel too lazy to customise everythings for the droid system, for me i will just use and when hit dead end then only will look for solution or modding... same goes to the pc world, you ain't gonna mod every single pc os around "all the time"...
