Hi guys,

I want to export Double A and paperone A4 80gsm paper to some certain countries from malaysia, but as it seems it is very difficult to find a place that can export these two brands from malaysia.

I was wondering if anyone here could help me about that.

The amount that i want is: for double A 48,000 reams and paperone 64,000 reams.

Thank you

What are the difficulties that you faced in finding a place that can export those A4 papers?

Plus, which countries you're targeting?

well the difficulty is that anyone who i called telling me if you want for the export you have to call main office which for double a is in Thailand and when i contact them they say you better get it from the appointed distributor in the that country.

the fact is the prices which distributors offer are too hig for our order amount.

our main focus is middle east countries.

So your main issue is you can't get Double A4 paper supplies DIRECTLY from Double A?

Well, Double A don't or never sell their papers to public. That's their way of managing their supply chain. You have to go through their distributors if you want to get the best price.

Double A is one of the most expensive A4 paper brand & the profit margin for A4 papers (regardless of brand) is very low. That's why you won't get much discount despite your volume. Best you can get is like RM0.10 to RM0.50 discount per ream (if they're selling at a reasonable market price).

You could try & apply to be Double A's appointed distributor in Middle East if there's a vacancy. Or else, you just have to buy from their distributor.

the fact is that i think this is most probably gonna be a a one off thing. I was asked by a person who is ready to pay this amount for a reasonable price to find a source here.

but according to him price must be around 1$ t 1.50$usd in Malaysia.

Is that even possible????

Double A already has distributors all over in middle east.

USD1.50 is approximately MYR4.50 & the last I recall, Double A is at least RM10 per ream while PaperOne is close to RM10.

Your friend there is offering you a below cost price. Hard to say it's possible now.

Just take a walk into any stationery shop & check their selling price for those A4 papers.

well they asked me because distributor offered them price about 10 RM as nightheart said and they heard here in Malaysia the price is much cheaper.

for that amount even 0.10$USD is considerable, but as i asked around i came to the conclusion that the price is about 10 RM and even there is no reexport permission from here.

Commercial prices and retail prices differs vastly. It's common to be half the retail price.

Have u tried looking for the local distributor in malaysia? Get a quote and arrange your own freight.. See if its still viable.

For a worldwide vital & high consumption (still high though many places are starting converting into paperless environment) product like A4 papers, the profit margin is so low that even our local distributors here are earning only like RM0.10 to RM0.30 per ream.

The cost of importing is gonna totally wipe out whatever profit margin that you managed to get. The foreigners are just trying their luck, offering for USD1.50 when the local distributors themselves are getting for like USD3.00 from the manufacturer.

what you should do is buy it here and look for forwarder to export to those countries. but most probably you'll have to pull some strings at the customs to have it work out smile.gif

They should look for MY distributors, not you. As you will have another profit cut.

If direct from MY distributor, only one cut.

But, it will be Double A business strategy if they want to sell to your customer or not. As this will definately upset the Middle East distributor. it is like Double A undercut their own distributor in Middle East. So a proper company will always ask the customer to get direct from their distributor from that country.

Not worth for Double A sacrifice just a small profit for 60K rim in Middle East. ME distributor can easily sell 1mil, 5mil, 10mil (who knows a year).

Thanks guys for all the replies, I actually got in contact with my friends and ask them where exactly they got the idea of these to paper brands and A4 overall would be cheaper in Malaysia. They said in the websites like alibaba, tradekey and a few others there are lots of posts and advertisements with A4 paper ranging between 0.80$ to 1.20$.

I've checked my self, from what I understand these are most probably fake since they give mobile number as fax or strange addresses but I'm not entirely sure.

Does anyone of you know anything about this?

Thank you

I've checked too, those companies only exist in alibaba & tradekey. They don't have a website or any other details besides their address & number.

Well, they're quoting per "pack", not sure whether their packaging is the same size that we're talking about (500 pieces of paper per ream). But so far I've yet to see a ream with lesser than 450 pieces of paper.

all big company already appoint their distributor.
why they ask you to contact that distributor, because they already have an agreement.
They must sell the goods which only cover by certain distributor.

Example
country a : contact distributor country a
country b : contact distributor country b

so, you cannot contact country a distributor if you stay at country b.
