QUOTE(yan7 @ Aug 3 2013, 11:36 PM) hey guys, wonder are u all stay in malaysia? so which platform/broker u use to trade forex? Dont worry about that first.worry about making profit first. mean trading in malaysia i am kinda frustrating to choose which broker to use, and how to handle and withdraw payment upon trades transactions. Because, you will want to withdraw once you're profitable. If the broker is new to you, dont put huge money first. Try to withdraw when needed. For there you know if the broker is good or not. Very difficult to say which broker is the best.some may gave good exp witg broker A. Some may not |

Learn use demo account.
Once u understand the concept, open a mini account. $5 deposit will allow you to open 0.01 lot size. Go with mini account for years before you dump huge money. Live account will teach you to control your emotion. Emotion when you gain or loss. You may have great technique but if you emotion is weak, its not going to be sustainable. Forex is not a get rich scheme. It takes years to be a master |

QUOTE(Jeck10 @ Aug 8 2013, 04:17 PM) Demoing for the first time, learning the basics and also trying to familiarize with basic buying and selling. But I have parts that I'm very confused.. For #2,depends on brokers.some broker has fix spread, some may adjust the spread during news.1. When I choose 'volume' 1.0, what does it mean? From what I saw my 1 pip = 10$? 2. Before I buy or sell, the value of spread keeps changing, how do I know which one is the spread they charge me? 3. Is there a maximum duration to hold on the pairs? Is there any recommendation or its solely depends on what type of traders you are? Thank you in advance... For #3,most brokers will allow you to open position as long as you have enough margin. Except for brokers regulated in the us.they will force close your position and reopen at daily open price This post has been edited by MonsterPips: Aug 9 2013, 03:37 PM |

Learn as much as you can while you are young n single.once you have family n kids, no time to learn. No time to even open a laptop.
Good thing now mt4 can run on android. I used to purchase a windows 6.1 phone just to trade on the go. |

After you know how to control your emotion, you can start to learn on money management.
I would like to stress again learning with a live micro account with usd5 capital is much better than a demo account. See how many time you blow up the account or how much you gain. Training for 2-3 years will be good. |

QUOTE(Jeck10 @ Aug 15 2013, 01:57 AM) Well. I used to take 2-3 months result to test my technique. I can get 100% during trial. So i put more money on the 4th month and all gone at the end of the month. The cycle repeated many times.Obviously 2 3months result not long enough to test the system. Just sharing my experience. |

QUOTE(sebastian.twz @ Aug 15 2013, 11:03 AM) money management with $5... ... is it possible? even with Nano accounts ( each pip = 1 cent ), a 1% SL will be 5 cents... a mere 5 pips ignoring the spreads... I'm not using SL as money management. I prefer to control my margin at any given time. Meaning i control my lot size depending on my equity |

I have been using fxopen since 2009. So far ok. The problem is me not making profit.
Not promoting fxopen btw. Fxopen for training with micro account. They have local deposit which is fast. will use alpari uk for my standard account. |

Trading with news is very difficult. Its call fundamental analysis. Need to understand the whole picture. Cant trade using single news only. Most fundamental traders play long term. The reward in term of pips is huge.
I guess better to start using technical analysis. Short term play. slowly will understand fundamentals. |

QUOTE(Spencer Hastings @ Aug 20 2013, 05:37 PM) did 16 trades today got $927.35 profit. What buy and buy/sell and sell tactic? not really, i look at charts and news to predict outcome. leverage 1:100. average 56 pips per trade, some 100+ - 200+ some 20+. Not good to have -200pips down in real account. You will not sure if you should hold it, accept the lost or add more lot. Just give a try with a real account. But dont put big money. Just put something you can afford to loss. |

I'm using Alpari UK and FXOpen.
Quite happy with both. Just that FXOpen has local deposit/withdrawal which can save some money, but will take longer time to process |
