Hmm Im looking for a regulated broker, which provide fixed spread account.

I wanted to start a demo account with HotForex but then they do not provide demo account with fixed spread, only variable spread.

Then I turn to FXPrimus, they do provide fixed spread account. But the spread is not really low, EURUSD 2pips, AUDUSD 3pips, GBPUSD 3pips. Now trading with their demo account.

Are HotForex and FXPrimus regulated? Does Bank Negara recognize them? (Or does Bank Negara blacklist them?)
Can you guys recommend me some regulated broker with low spreads?
*
FYI, Bank Negara does not approve any type of forex trading by any means so trade at your own risk. Why do you need fixed spread? some ECN floating spread is low enough and most wont go over 2 even at extreme conditions. Most fixed spread broker usually wont go below 2 pips.

Because floating spread often go up to 6 or 7 pips when the market open/close or when a major news is released. I had never seen a floating spread remain under 2.  sweat.gif

I'm fine with the fixed spreads offered by FXPrimus, but just surveying if there is any lower.
I had just read that FXPrimus was listed scam by Bank Negara.  shocking.gif  shocking.gif  shocking.gif
What the.............. So FXPrimus is a scam???
*
so ur strategy is morning breakout yea? brows.gif Fxprimus was omitted from the list edi... not scam.

wanna ask

do you listen to news for your trade decision or mainly charts?

also for the support / resistance level, for the same graph, it is possible to draw different levels depending how you look at it. Is there a general guideline how you draw support / resistance for a given graph?
*
SnR is not the same for everyone. Its subjective. Same goes with trendlines. If you are 'seeing' the same chart and pattern, you will most likely get the same snr or tendline level with pther ppl. Correct me if im wrong.

I tried to chart the support and resistance b4. But I found there are so many possibility depending what criteria you use to define it

Any general solid guideline to follow?

Example some will say if it bounce off once can be used. Some must bounce of 2 or 3 times only can use
*
Yeah, if the price bounce back one time it could be support/resistance but it will not be a strong one. It may break off anytime. If the price tested the line 2 3 times than its a stronger SnR.

thanks for the feedback

what about timeframe? is there a general timeframe that is suitable?

I was thinking 1 hour would be quite suitable
*
I also use 1hr timeframe to plot trendlines and i use 4hr to see the 'bigger picture'. but generally, the bigger the timeframe where you plot the lines, the better chance that it will hold.

Forex is just like any other investments and tradings. It's not all sweet.

Demoing for the first time, learning the basics and also trying to familiarize with basic buying and selling. But I have parts that I'm very confused..

1. When I choose 'volume' 1.0, what does it mean? From what I saw my 1 pip = 10$?

2. Before I buy or sell, the value of spread keeps changing, how do I know which one is the spread they charge me?

3. Is there a maximum duration to hold on the pairs? Is there any recommendation or its solely depends on what type of traders you are?

Thank you in advance...smile.gif

1 lot is equal to 100,000 units of base currency. but the lot sometimes depends on broker also. Like instaforex, 1 lot = 10,000 units if im not mistaken. Btw, how did you open those positions, i mean whats ur strategy? brows.gif

After you know how to control your emotion, you can start to learn on money management.

I would like to stress again learning with a live micro account with usd5 capital is much better than a demo account. See how many time you blow up the account or how much you gain. Training for 2-3 years will be good.
*
I strongly agree with this. The feeling of trading your own money even if its just $5 is on a whole different level compared to trading demo. Personally ive been doing this for awhile using rm50 each time. Not much success though. But i still believes hard work and perseverance pays off later. biggrin.gif
