QUOTE(renishi @ Nov 1 2012, 05:07 PM) JB on s3 consume more battery? or just typical Malaysian being paranoid or just like to trash talk on baseless stuff? i would like to think it is the last 1 » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « [attachmentid=3132406] [attachmentid=3132408] I usually get 5hrs and 30min+ with less than 10% of battery left but with JB on its first day i get almost 1hr extra on screen time with more than 15% of battery left. Good day Each of us have different way of using our smartphones, some will use it more to talk/sms, some more on games, some for browsing, fb, snapping photos, messaging etc. Some might have bad network connection, some might have wifi connection all day. So each of us will have different battery consumption. We're talking from our experience and what shown on our phone .. so, please, don't say that we're talking trash ..

QUOTE(renishi @ Nov 1 2012, 05:19 PM) Since u put it that way, then i am sorry. If u are fine with ppl keep spamming about it then i guess it is ok then. They're not spamming, they just being worried .. my first day with JB is the same as many of them, the battery lasted less than when I'm on ICS.. same usage pattern. Some have found out that Google Now might contribute to the problem and suggested to turn it off .. etc. One thing though, JB & ICS might have different processes running in background and might take a bit more out of the juice.

QUOTE(lucifer_666 @ Nov 2 2012, 05:35 PM) tried to update to JB, but theres an error while rebooting. do i have to unroot to upgrade to JB? (and if so, how?) or its not necessary? sorry, n00b question... What kind of error, what method do you use to upgrade to JB? More information will surely help us to give some suggestion/direction. I was on rooted ICS before and had no problem when upgrading to JB using OTA, sure I need to re-root it again after JB was installed.

For those who've problem with OTA or KIES, probably you guys want to go ahead with ODIN method which I believe is much easier. But with ODIN, you'll loose everything, yeah .. I mean it .. everything even in your internal SD. So, do a backup first.

QUOTE(screwedpeep @ Nov 3 2012, 06:44 AM) Does anyone know what gpsd is? gpsd I believe is GPS daemon, I usually turn off my gps, only turn it on when required. In your case, probably you've your phone somewhere that doesn't have GPS coverage. Do search it on the net, one other reason why gpsd taking up large percentage of the juice is due to the remote location setting, you might have it on. Yup, did that.. Best is to drained it first till your phone turned off by itself, charge to full and do reset if you've rooted, if not, it shld be fine too. And recommend to all that having bad battery consumption.. After few days, mine battery usage is back to normal.
