Hey, just to ask i recently started using the Nova Launcher. Wondering If that will suck up my battery life? I left it overnight and it dropped from 77% to 45%. Before I started using Nova, battery life was not like this . Just to confirm. smile.gif
*
I am using nova too. I no such battery drain problem. It could be other reasons

If you use 3rd party launcher then install Home Manager app and use it to kill TW launcher and let only one launcher running. Otherwise TW still running in the background.
*
I never kill my tw when I use nova Launcher. What should I look for in the running app list that represents tw? Coz i don't see any tw like processes in the list

Sry for disturbing. I read through from ver 21 until ver22 pg 3 (so far), still didn't see anyone discuss bout flash Poland jb to msia jb. My one currently using Poland stock jb and kernel. Wish to flash to msia jb. Do I need unroot or just flash it? Can we consider Poland stock jb to msia stock jb as flashing from stock Rom to stock Rom?

Thank
*
i was from poland jb too and flashed to malaysia jb. for my case, it when well, but not well. after flashing, i couldn't shutdown my phone. instead of shutting down, it restarts. so in order for me to really shutdown i needed to take out the battery. so i did a hard reset. of course i back up using TB. then restore the user apps. but for the system apps, i use until something wrong than i make a decision to configure manually or restore from TB.i don't have a checklist on what need to be restored on the system, so i just use the "use until encounter problem" approach.

hope this helps. u may want to consult an expert but i am just like u, first timer. just handle the problems as they come. my phone is quite perfect now after 3-4 days of problem solving bit by bit.

in case u want to know the problems:
1. i get the "unfortunately......" messages.
2. my viber go crazy, my wife call me, but my girlfriend name show.
3. sync doesn't work properly until u delete and recreate your google account.
4. my old preference setup all back to default.
5. many more can't remember but its minor only the big ones are above.

When my screen turns off due to time out and followed me pressing the home button, instead of maintaining the app I am in it returns me to the home menu screen. I don't remember ics had such problems . I'm using malaysian jelly bean. Anybody have same problem?

I somehow experience the same thing. I saw someone experiencing this problem as well. Since it doesn't bother me much, I'm okay with it =)
*
Yeah. It's so annoying to me. Lucky smart stay lessens the occurrences. To me it's a bug.

Well, first of all, exit unused apps the right way instead of just home button.

Dont use advance task killer. Android task killer does better job.

Also, control those apps running background. Depending on what you need only then you leave it runnimg background.
*
Frankly I don't brain the right way to exit app. Coz sometimes I press back button even after 5 times it don't exit the app. Sometimes I want to back to the previous page. But instead it exit the app. At least when I press the home button I get a consistent outcome. So now I don't think and just press the home button to exit app.

Just install Aplication Monitor widget or Task Manager for easy way to close any open apps.

Just read this. It's an old article but i think it is saying just press the home button to exit the app. Let android handle the ram for u.

I know android is a geek phone. But normal users use it too. Telling normal users to install stuff to close app properly or telling them the right and wrong way of exiting an app make them scared to use android. I don't think Google wants that

Guys, just wondering if anyone is experiencing this, sometimes, when I leave my phone to charge for few hours, even if its off, its doesn't charge full. Anyone having the same problem? (This is charged using the charger so for now, I'm suspecting the charger problem but it only happens occasionally.)
*
I don't know if same as your problem but it's my faulty micro usb connection. It first charges then after a while it stops charging. I now know that there is a certain angle the charging fails. Over time the angle drops to a degree where it stops charging

This is what I always wondering bout. Why don't they just create a button/function that allow users to completely close it? Just like wat we always do in our computer.  X = exit; - = minimize? Lol
*
That is what I do not want to do. I just want to open apps. I hate closing them and I feel it's not my duty to close them. It's the operating system duty to close. If I want to use another app I just open that app. Why do I need to close the current app? It's one extra step to me. Android is doing it correctly. PC is doing it wrongly

Hi Guys, Just wanna ask something, my S3 updated to JB quite a while ago but now it seems that the messaging is not working, keep prompting " unfortunately messaging has stopped" ....i tried to reset the phone before, after reset it works fine but after a while it happens again...headache...any sifu out there can help? Thanks a lot
*
I got that too. There is a bug in the messaging app. Go to facebook messenger. Goto settings. Enable sms messages. Now that u have sms message in your fb messenger u can delete the pending sms which is causing the problem. Done

Ya juga. But since so many ppl worry and not sure whehter rrheir apps got completely exit or not, so just my own suggestion la.

For me, I duno whether this consider completely exit or not, whenever I didn't use the certain apps, I will hold the home button, then drag away the certain apps.  smile.gif
So when android OS will attack pc market? Since Windows already enter phone market while apple got also MacBook and ipong.  Lol
*
in pc, we have a paradigm where all your open apps are at your taskbar. we know since years ago we been unproductive and not even aware of it. notice when we open too many apps, we will say "sekejap let me close all my unused app first before i open another one". why are we the user doing that? the paradigm we been living in all this while is the user manage the RAM. it should be we just open and open and open, if windows run out of memory is its pasal. windows should figure that out, not us! go and figure out which app we open that never use for so long and close it for me. but don't tell me its closed coz i don't want to know (its info i need not know). when i open it again, it should be as how i left it. whether windows open the app by bringing it back to RAM or not i don't care, as long as i get the see my app as i left it.

android way of doing things can also apply for PC. windows 8 knows that now, finally!

U know what, I notice scrolling up and down is better than left and right. Your thumb is more relaxed with up and down motions. Any launcher can do that? I'm using nova Launcher but doesn't have that feature

It should let user choose. For me, I prefer to manage myself. I don't want to loose something I left half way because the "smart" OS trying to be smart decide to auto-kill it for me while I trying to do something else. or the "smart" OS decide to pre-load some apps in memory (consuming memory) so it launch faster but I may never use/touch that app for few days, I don't mind waiting a while for the app to load and launch, but currently the "smart" OS doesn't let me choose or decide, it pre-loadsĀ  the apps in memory, if I kill it, it will re-load them.

For general users, it's good enough. But best would be to have more options, to let the user choose the behavior and take responsibility.
*
Why would you loose something? . Don't associate auto kill with losing something. U shouldn't loose anything. I have no comment on the preload or reloading issue coz hat was not my topic of discussion. beside i don't think they are android issues, more like samsung bloatware issues. But I still think closing an app is not productive. even at my work I feel real hassle to clean my table. I will like somebody to do it for me while still knowing where my documents are

my s3 drop facedown.. only normal screen protector applied.. not using any case..

I know it's crying over spilled milk but u should have used a case more than a screen protector. The changes of u dropping your phone in so much higher than u scratching the display.
