Just couldn't understand why required to factory reset when OTA from stock non-rooted ICS to stock non-rooted JB.

If you are from stock to stock there will be no data will be wipe and what it does is replacing your ROM to newest only

Unless, you installed custom ROM and going back to stock and vise-versa can simply go to download mode to wipe data and fatory reset.

LOL! biggrin.gif just couldn't understand.

From stock to stock using PC odin all intag unless you use mobile odin but mobile odin must root device first.

Base on my experience when i was on Note 1, i flashed multiple country ROM from GERMAN to HK to Malaysia (all stocks) so far no data loss tongue.gif

You may need to use odin to flash back to stock to test it out.. you didn't get reply? I thought someone sound very helpful? hmm.gif

So far didn't experience this but logically base on your explanation it may due to the kernel you put in. Since you root your phone why don't you back it up and put in stock rom and root it again to test it out? hmm.gif

Which JB country you were from and now to which JB version? hmm.gif If you were taking about phone to announce caller information, smses and others.. should be in launguage and input -> "text-to-speech output" -> driving mode.. thumbup.gif

Just curious, in ICS is there a task manager option for S3 but now i can see it in long press home button. I thought this is note 1 feature and now they also have it for S3.

Maybe i am wrong.... biggrin.gif

I don't think we should compare note 2 with S3 furthermore both have own strengths and weakness blush.gif

At the end it's still "SAMSUNG" product anyway why fighting each other ownself? sweat.gif

I agree with you..... everyone use the phone differently giving different result... but even if can simulate the same behavour, same use and same software use the result may different and the end... Cause the phone itself could make the different...

You got important SMS? if not maybe you can try below first:-

1. settings -> Applications manager -> ALL -> Messaging -> Clear data...

2. If still cannot, you may try factory reset but make sure you backup first...

You hard reset is pull out battery? But i don't think this is matter.. Sorry can't help but you can try to factory reset but remember to backup first...

You may try this.

1. Goto Settings->Application Manager-> Choose Whatsapp-> Clean data-> Launch Whatsapp again..
2. Goto Settings->Application Manager-> Choose Whatsapp-> Unintall-> Re-configure again..
