Anyone encounter problem detecting songs, video, photo that store in the SD card?

I just updated to JB yesterday. Initially all working normally. But when I restart my phone again this morning. All the data above undetected in the song list or gallery

Btw, Mine still unroot for the time being and loving it...

Hmm..that's odd. Try clear your media storage data.
Setting > application manager > all > media storage > clear data.
If still fail..then try unmount your ext sdcard..then  remount it back. Let the media scanner scans back all your media contents. Good luck  biggrin.gif

Try that. Still the same. But currently manage to trace the photo & video by moving the items manually using file manager.

Now how about song? Hm... I guess the only way is to transfer all the songs back to phone....

My S3 is also un-rooted and the same problem arose a couple of times. Re-started the phone when it came up and now after 2 days, no sign of this issue anymore.

Today is the 4th day since i upgrade to JB via OTA. I dont have any issue except that now it cant detect the micro sd card.

On wednesday, it detect the micro sd card (setting>storage), no item in the gallery. But i still can browse through using file manager. Now, it didnt detect the micro sd card and nothing to browse in the file manager.

Anyone facing this issue? Ive done the factory reset as well..

Try unmount you ext sdcard. Then clear your gallery and media storage data before you mount your ext sdcard again. Restart your phone after that.
To clear data..setting >application manager > all > media storage (then gallery) > clear data.

Try that. Nothing happen. I believe that my micro sd card has been corrupted. I try to view the file inside via the adapter to my laptop. But cannot detect as well.

Now when i done what u listed, there is a notification of "blank sd card - SD card is blank or has unsopported file system".

Tot want to show off to frens who hang their ip4 when upgrade to ios6. Now it kinda backfire already....

I have this issue sporadically. Tried many ways and all of them work. One of the ways of course is to restart. Then wait for a while once phone is on before going to Music, click on it. All songs saved in the external SD card will appear. Then when you go into Gallery all photos stored will be 'recovered'. Another way is go into Storage, click unmount SD card but instead of doing what waveweaver suggest, just restart phone. Once restarted, wait for a while and when you go into Gallery and/or Music your stored items should be there.

Good luck.

After 2 days of sleepless night, suddenly this eve my s3 detected the micro sd card. Thank god!

Now are finding ways to why eventhough already can save photo in sd card, but it fail to find the other file i.e. photo, songs or video store in there. Anyone can help?

For future update sake, is there any good back up app & sms/mms app out there? Currently using app monster pro. It can back up the app but when restoring, all the save game, data gone...while my sms back up app completely fail me (ritesh something the name of the dvlpr).

I don't remember whether I have posted a reply to you earlier. Anyway, just take your phone to the SC to reflash the firmware. That should solve this issue. It did mine.

You did reply my post. And i try your method. But no changes.

So need to send to SC for reflash lor. Between pj & lowyat SC, which 1 is faster n reliable?

Sorry for the noob question...
