Weird! I was flashing UK stock JB to IN stock JB just now.

As usual, I will wipe dalvik, data and cahce at CWM recovery mode.
then flash IN JB via Odin.
then re-root.

after that I found out that all the files (gameloft data, photo, tb backup, nandroid backup files) are still exist there.

I tot I wipe all data and it should be deleted? No?

Anyone know why?

yes I factory reset via setting. and this was my 3rd time to factory reset.

BTW, anyone know why TB couldn't restore my contacts? =(
I was restored the "restore misssing apps with data" 1st, then restore "all system data" (with GREEN color only).

the contact backup files is it name as "COntacts Storege 4.1.1 - I9300XXXXX (contacts/Calls)? I can't restore it as it don't allow me to tick the box.

Ifbi am not wrong, wipe data via cwm means clearing all the settings and that's about it. If you want to wipe memory, go choose format sd on cwm.

For those who do a full rewipe when flashing other ROMs, what is the most convenient way to re-install all the apps and the customization/arrangement of your menu, etc that you've done in the prev ROM

Backup with Titanium Backup Pro. Then just restore back data and app.

For arrangement, that one have to do manualky unless you using custom browser where you can save settings etc.

kinda noob here. any guide available?

Do this.

Go page 1 and search for xda thread (OP) had gave a link to official rom release. Go there and search for malaysia rom. Download that.

Once downloaded, boot into Download mode (off phone, then power up, volume down and home button at same time). Fire up Odin on your lappy. And once everything is up, connect the usb with phone. You will see odin will show Comm... ready (lights up).

Select the file in PDA (the one you downloaded) and do not touch the rest of the buttons. Now press Start and wala..just wait it to complete and it will auto reboot.

Hope this helps. there is also on this on xda.

I actually brought my S3 to the SC along Federal Highway this morning to re-flash my firmware due the the Smart Stay problem. And this is about the only issue with my phone after updating to JB besides the lag when opening certain functions. However, it did not solve it. I did factory reset after the re-flashing.

Therefore, could you be so kind as to post here when you are informed that the JB firmware is stable so I can go and re-flash again?

Much appreciated.

my Smart stay also got problem, why not choose to off it? after off no more problem wit it. hmm.gif

Hmm if stock, not sure le..this is what you can try.

1. Did you do any modding or tweaking?
2. Wipe cache and dalvik and see if that helps.
3. Try flash back stock rom and see if the problem persist.

If on stock, SHOULD not happen ba~

for baseband - XXDLID (<- this is???)
XX = Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom (Western Europe),
D = ?
L = 2012
I = September
D = version 13

for build number is XXDLJ4 (<-- this should be UK JB, if not mistaken)
XX = Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom (Western Europe)
D = ?
L = 2012
J = Oct
4 = version 4

Anyone still with UK stock JB? what's your baseband and build number?
