Mang, no offense, but your travel shots look like any random tourist holding dslr snapping in Auto mode using liveview.

I think one of the better travel photos who posts here is heartpatrick, go check his travel photos to get a better idea: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Sear...ult_type=topics

Looks the same as the photos i took in Tokyo with my iphone 4s. =.=

the second last pic, you didnt capture the whole arch, if that was the point of it all.

the last pic as well, was the focus of your shot the purple light / balcony ?

looks like you just bang and snap only

dont really see the point of the picture or the focus of the picture.

and my comment on how to improve, is that you don't know what makes a nice "travel photo" in the first place, so in my opinion, the best way to improve is to look at other sifu's work.

if you insist on criticism, then well, 2, 4 and 5 (and to a certain extent 3), the angle you've chosen is poor. it doesn't look like you put any thought into what angle to snap the photo from at all, it's just like 1. look up, 2. snap, 3. done.

pic 2 and 3 if you had a tripod, dragging a slow shutter to blur the crowd would have helped to add a sense of "movement" to the photo

other than that i really don't even know where to start commenting because nothing is being "told" in your photos.

You need composition, angle and focus on certain objects. These random capturing is just what normal tourists will do with a camera, to remind oneself of the scenery there.

the easiest is just to simply focus a subject like a shoe/a toy/or someone's reading a book by the subway etc make it more story telling? hope this helps tongue.gif

there's A LOT of improvement can be done, but we all learn bit-by-bit right? smile.gif lets talk about two basic things u can slightly improve here

1. i can imagine u standing up straight and taking the photo. a good way (especially for cityscape shots like these) is to crouch, or go as low as possible, then shoot. you would want to show a scene/perspective that would be new for even a person who goes day every day!

2. spend some time learning basic photo editing software, if u havent already. some photos here should've been upright but they're not. this can be easily corrected in any photo editor.
