iDog Quick Guide

iDog Controls

Tail Unhappy Red Makes iDog Sad
Head (1 & 2) Calm Green Makes iDog Calm
Head Button A + Nose - - Volume Up
Head Button B + Nose - - Volume Down

Playing with iDog:
iDog has 3 different modes, Event Mode, Pet Mode & Music Mode.
The mode iDog is in will vary depending on how you play & feed him.

Music Mode:
Use any male to male 3.5mm audio cable to connect iDog to any music source. In this
mode your iDog will dance in time to the music and also becomes a loud speaker.
Flick iDogs tail to turn the louder speaker on or off.

Pet Mode:
iDogs normal mode, in this mode iDog responds to your voice, touch and music. It
will also show you how it feels. In this mode you can:
a) Play with iDog through touch sensors
b) Feed iDog
If you love iDog enough, it will trigger a special "Event Mode" where iDog will
compose a song for you. Leave iDog alone and it will revert to Pet Mode.

Imitation:
When iDog is in Pet Mode, iDog can listen to your voice and try to imitate you.

Simply talk to iDog when in Pet Mode for iDog to start paying attention to your
voice.
Speak to iDog, for a maximum of 4 seconds, iDog will then play back its attempt at
imitation of the owners voice. Please note that iDogs imitation attempt will be
unintelligible.

Imitation Mode Display:
Centre LED is only on and green
a) Centre LED changes to red as voice recording begins
b) Centre LED changes to blue after recording and iDog begins playback

Feeding iDog:
When iDog is hungry, place him near some music to feed him. When he's full, he will
play the "thank you" music ("a little brown bottle")

iDog Feelings:
iDog shows its emotions to you by using coloured lights on its face. You can tell how
iDog is feeling by the colour and the rotation speed of the lights on its face.
emotion.

Event Mode:
If you make iDog happy enough, it will trigger a special Event Mode. Press iDogs
nose within 7 seconds to use the event, or ignore it and iDog will return to Pet Mode.
Wiggle iDogs tail during an event to cancel and put iDog back into Pet Mode.

Composition Event:
In this mode iDog will compose a tune for you, depending on how it is feeling. iDog
can compose and store up to 10 tunes for you. The longer you play with iDog the
longer the song iDog makes for you. .

Music Play Event:
iDog will play one of its created songs for you randomly. Move your hand in front of
iDog to change the tone of the music.

Replying iDog Songs:
The songs played in the playing music event mode will be put into iDog's memory
and can be replayed whenever you like. To enable play back:

? During pet mode, push both of the head buttons (A and B) at the same time for
2-3 seconds.
? iDog will chime 3 times to let you know that you can play the music you like.
? First it will play "toy soldiers"
? Head button A will fast-forward to the next song, head button B will replay.

Sleeping:
If iDog is left alone for a while, it'll automatically go to sleep after 3 minutes
(5 minutes playing music).
You can force iDog to sleep by pressing the nose button for 3-4 seconds.

I bought a normal white colored idog for my gf last time when it was out.I think its about RM179.90.Well, not worth the price in my opinion but heck it was cute.A very nice deco, really cute and adorable..It can be used as a speaker for MP3 players, react to certain music, bark, and react to touches on its head and tail as well...

Well, the official selling price of the original iDog here is at RM179.So with that rock version of yours, i think u got a good price there unless what u are ordering is the mini edition which are quite cheap here..

The I-Dog is a larger size compared to the mini. The original i dog is about a palm size while the mini is maybe around 2 - 3 times smaller than the Idog. And the mini comes in different colors such as black, blue, silver while the Idog only comes in Transparent and white.Other colors are normally a different edition..

I just bought the sega version of idog at RM179. Waiting for it to arrive soon. I hope we can keep this thread alive as i found out that few people are into this gadget in malaysia, or maybe it's extinct already?
