Have anyone tried buying slr body from BHPhoto ?
Any comments/experience to share?

just curious, which body is cheaper in BHPhoto? is it 2nd hand?

better dont since most warranty is covered in respective country only,

Shipping cost will be very high and you might get trouble from Malaysia custom.

I bought lens and trigger before from bhphoto

cheaper than buying locally in most cases even with shipping

and fast service

cant really ask for more

You dont have to worry because Malaysia doesn't tax on camera equipments -.-" and it comes with tracking number with insurance so its 100% safe!

Just dont get random items with it such as memory cards, lens hood, camera bags cause those items will get taxed and you may want to do some price research 1st to see if its worth the tax!

shipping is only RM 200. 5D2 M'sia cost nearly RM 7k. You buy from USA + RM 150 shipping also still below RM 6k la (USD 1,772.19 - that's RM 5.5k mind you).

and you don't get trouble with customs wan, camera body and lenses are exempted from tax.

but i think this only apply to 5D mk ii
coz oversea show a massive price drop, while at malaysia still didnt see any sign except grey set
people selling their 2nd hand 5D mk ii here oso not reflect the new dropped price.
still try at 5.5 - 5k range.
guess they will only learn after 6D is actually out.

here you buy 5D2 used unit also RM 5.5k. you donno what the owner do with it, maybe lick it la, put between leg la, whatever donno shutter count.

buy from USA also no warranty BUT you get it NEW, brand spanking NEW! Can smell the nice nice out of the box goodness.

if i were coduosp I also will buy from BHP la. You see their packaging damn power wan, my lens simple stuff only also they give me 2 pillows.

i go for the cheap shipping la.

UPS Worldwide Saver still got tracking code and all that. like your case if got people tumpang also can may reduce shipping cost. just have to individually calculate.

your only trade off is warranty la, which I doubt any serious stuff can happen. if it did then hopefully Canon Malaysia service don't kill you only.

my cameras probably go through more knocks and rough usage (ok well i'm not rough user) than a shipping trip la, also no problem. some more shipping trip nicely padded wan the package.

touch wood.... so far i bought many stuff new or 2nd hand without warranty and so far nothing happened. Camera Body and Lenses are very durable!

I will not hesitate to get from US if the price is really a lot cheaper than Malaysia.

I bought a lens from BH last time, went smoothly, sent via UPS to kota kinabalu.

the problem was the following ......

if you said "might be expensive" is still not so bad but you already concluded it will be very costly when BHPhoto allows you to estimate your shipping cost immediately.
