This phone is a downright steal, considering the specs, if it were in any other none nexus phone the rrp would be around 2k give or take 200rm. For such a cheap price 1,5k and below its a definite must buy....however iam a bit worried, for Google to sell it for so cheap they must be cutting corners some where...

Never tried a Note2, but I did play with someone's S3 for a bit, and there's still a bit of jerkiness when switching apps and stuff. Not really something a typical S3 owner will notice unless he's put CM or another fast AOSP/AOKP ROM on it to compare. Once they tried the ROM, they almost always say that stock S3 doesn't feel as smooth. TouchPiss isn't as bad as HTC's nonSense, but it's still quite bloated compared to vanilla Android. Maybe it improved with the Note2, I dunno, but I doubt I'll be owning another non-Nexus again in the foreseeable future.

Back on topic to the Nexus 4, I've read most of the reviews and opinion pieces, and so far the two main concerns I have are the battery and thermal throttling on the SoC.

Anandtech and Ars state that the device is very frugal on battery until you run a benchmark app or high-detail game, then it'll suck juice like crazy. That seems to be the reason why the battery benchmarks are so low. It's a bit like those modern cars with advanced traction electronics. Put the thing on a dyno to measure horsepower and they'll never give you an accurate reading because the the electronics know that it's not a real-world scenario.

Bigger concern would be the thermal throttling. I read that once a certain temperature is detected on a certain transistor within,  OS (probably a kernel-space/mode setting) throttles the CPU and GPU speed. Problem is, that temperature range seems to be in the high 30's (celsius). We live in the tropics and experience that kind of temperature in the air surrounding us, plus crazy humidity levels that many western countries don't face. I'm wondering how that'll affect things. If the said transistor gets to the high 30's just from the surrounding temperature, will our performance be constantly throttled unless we enter an air-conditioned room?

It's all about the WOW factor dude.

Honestly speaking, the ONLY thing attracting me to the Nexus 4 is the wireless charger.

Other than that and the plain-vanilla Jelly Bean, phones like S3 and Note II offer better features.

2K for Nexus 4 is definitely not worth it. Considering we all know the selling price in US is only $329, which is just a little more than RM1k.

It'll not be a smart move by LG to mark up the price that high if they wanna raise awareness bout their brand here. Based on my own observation, a lot of commoner will not chose a Nexus device. Back when Galaxy Nexus is selling for RM 1,150 a lot of people still go for Galaxy S2.

I kinda regret not getting one when its that cheap. Now my father constantly flashes his Jelly Bean Nexus in front of my face
