QUOTE(trellva @ Oct 30 2012, 03:30 PM) This phone is a downright steal, considering the specs, if it were in any other none nexus phone the rrp would be around 2k give or take 200rm. For such a cheap price 1,5k and below its a definite must buy....however iam a bit worried, for Google to sell it for so cheap they must be cutting corners some where... Who in the right mind currently looking for smartphone would not even consider Nexus 4? Fastest SoC, great spec and the price is the cheapest among other superphone!Bye2 maguro, welcome mako! |

Anandtech knows what they doing. They know the early benchmark wasn't right. It was quite underwhelming performance for Nexus 4.
Now, they figure out whats wrong. Nexus 4 is officially the fastest android phone in the market!! |

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Nov 14 2012, 12:19 PM) But are you gonna use your phone in a ziplock bag placed inside a freezer??? Hope that google will update thos SoC thermal throttling, without sacrificing the battery performance. But in real world, you are not getting the best of the quad core still, unfortunately. Added on November 14, 2012, 12:29 pm QUOTE(dawho @ Nov 14 2012, 12:03 PM) i will surely wait for the price to drop kaw kaw.... Let say LG sell this phone 1.9-2k. Is it worth to wait 6-7 months to get the same price as google currently offered?last time bought nexus RM1450...this time nexus 4 comes out....will surely wait till drop This post has been edited by ruffstuff: Nov 14 2012, 12:29 PM |

No such thing google server can't handle the load out.
Only possible thing is lack of stock or controlled selling. |

QUOTE(SonnyCooL @ Nov 14 2012, 09:41 PM) first how does site generate income ? Please don't assume and generalize things unless you have proof.how media generate income ? why giving free phone ? that is another type of payment. who give free phone ? free phone from which dept ? PR under their a&p, that is pretty common. in media line, on or offline media is no different on generating income ..... btw 1000 daily page view ? they generate millions page view daily ..... pls try ask mass student and those in ad line .... You can keep your perception that all reviewers are bias by yourself. |

QUOTE(G-17 @ Nov 16 2012, 10:27 AM) Never tried a Note2, but I did play with someone's S3 for a bit, and there's still a bit of jerkiness when switching apps and stuff. Not really something a typical S3 owner will notice unless he's put CM or another fast AOSP/AOKP ROM on it to compare. Once they tried the ROM, they almost always say that stock S3 doesn't feel as smooth. TouchPiss isn't as bad as HTC's nonSense, but it's still quite bloated compared to vanilla Android. Maybe it improved with the Note2, I dunno, but I doubt I'll be owning another non-Nexus again in the foreseeable future. yes. I wonder about this too when Anandtech discover the thermal throttling. Malaysia is generally hot.___________________________________ Back on topic to the Nexus 4, I've read most of the reviews and opinion pieces, and so far the two main concerns I have are the battery and thermal throttling on the SoC. Anandtech and Ars state that the device is very frugal on battery until you run a benchmark app or high-detail game, then it'll suck juice like crazy. That seems to be the reason why the battery benchmarks are so low. It's a bit like those modern cars with advanced traction electronics. Put the thing on a dyno to measure horsepower and they'll never give you an accurate reading because the the electronics know that it's not a real-world scenario. Bigger concern would be the thermal throttling. I read that once a certain temperature is detected on a certain transistor within, OS (probably a kernel-space/mode setting) throttles the CPU and GPU speed. Problem is, that temperature range seems to be in the high 30's (celsius). We live in the tropics and experience that kind of temperature in the air surrounding us, plus crazy humidity levels that many western countries don't face. I'm wondering how that'll affect things. If the said transistor gets to the high 30's just from the surrounding temperature, will our performance be constantly throttled unless we enter an air-conditioned room? |

QUOTE(shockk @ Nov 22 2012, 11:38 AM) It's all about the WOW factor dude. Better is always relatives. I rather pay more for Nexus 4 than S3.Honestly speaking, the ONLY thing attracting me to the Nexus 4 is the wireless charger. Other than that and the plain-vanilla Jelly Bean, phones like S3 and Note II offer better features. |

QUOTE(cllee86 @ Nov 23 2012, 11:06 AM) 2K for Nexus 4 is definitely not worth it. Considering we all know the selling price in US is only $329, which is just a little more than RM1k. In US only Google is selling $329. Unlocked from carrier is $499.It'll not be a smart move by LG to mark up the price that high if they wanna raise awareness bout their brand here. Based on my own observation, a lot of commoner will not chose a Nexus device. Back when Galaxy Nexus is selling for RM 1,150 a lot of people still go for Galaxy S2. I kinda regret not getting one when its that cheap. Now my father constantly flashes his Jelly Bean Nexus in front of my face Nexus 4 definitely worth more than LG Optimus G which is price range with HTC One X and S3. For me, price is relative. It is different on each individual. |
