for most ppl, 16gb is already more than enough, me included.  for 2 years, my 16gb SD card not yet full, no housekeeping done also...

I ordered it in 5 minutes after it got started from US Play store. My units are shipped through ComGateway, a US forwarding company.

direct d guys told me they'll have some n4 in the 20 something this month...

So I can safely say that there is no other way to get Nexus 4 other than those grey importers currently?

you are mistaken, aosp android never had native usb otg support.
need to use root app called stickmount

nexus 7 confirm no otg support right out of the box, i have nexus 7 and without stickmount app, nothing will happen when you plug a pendrive to it.

samsung touch wiz has otg support out of the box, but if you flash aosp rom like cyanogenmod or aokp,
no more native otg support, also need stickmount app.

nothing new that aosp dont support otg natively.
all nexus user knows that, and its not a problem, since root is easy and stickmount app is free.

I don't understand why ppl expect USB OTG out of the box. This clearly shows that they didn't know Nexus devices well enough that they don't know all previous Nexus-es do not support USB OTG out-of-the-box.

That's a feature only natively provided and added into their ROMs by 3rd party manufacturers like Samsung and HTC.

Nexus ain't a phone for normal user that don't root

I know I might get flamed but yea... That's what Nexus was meant to be! Even though Google is pushing it towards a casual phone for a casual user but without modding it, don't expect to get full use of the hardware

If you can't accept the truth that you had to root your phone and void your warranty (maybe not with Nexus devices) just to use some of the features readily available in normal phone like S3 or One X. This clearly tells you Nexus is not for you. Time to look into other phones

There ARE a lot of ppl using Android phone out of the box. Then complain lag laaa complain why cannot this laaa why cannot that laaaa. Then when you ask them to root it... "What is that???", their first question for you...
Then my answer normally is... "Something like jailbreak!"... Weird??? They know what is jailbreak (because jailbreak can let them play more games, you know I know la... But I don't own iOS device so I don't know how to jailbreak) but they don't know what is Root. Then the further we go, we ask them to flash custom ROM. Then the question becomes :"Got risk arh? Warranty how arh? If broken how arh??"

Anyway, I still managed to make few friends to start with rooting, some proceed to flash kernel, some proceed to flash custom ROM
