Finally.. my Nexus 4 has arrived at Hong Kong. It could be arriving tomorrow. Just got a call from DHL today asking me to apply for Sirim permit and I have already done that. Now, just wait for the Sirim approval letter and the package to arrive.

No need to call up banks, so leceh. Here is what I did to order successfully:

Step 1. Create an account at comgateway/hopshopgo. They will give you your own US address.
Step 2. Download and install hotspotshield vpn (the free one will do). Do not start it yet.
Step 3. Log in to Google Wallet. Delete all your info there, including Malaysian cards with Malaysian addresses.
Step 4. Start Hotspotshield VPN. This will mask your location as US.
Step 5. Go to Google Play and buy your Nexus 4. At the checkout point, use your Malaysian credit card, but for billing and shipping address fill in comgateway's from Step 1.

It should go through.

After that, just wait for comgateway/similar to email you when your goods arrive at their warehouse.
