QUOTE(chancsy @ Oct 30 2012, 12:42 AM) When reachs Malaysia..don't know what price. And don't know when Added on October 30, 2012, 12:45 amIt's funny at the official blog that mentions 4.2 as an "improved version Jelly Bean", guess they still want to keep the name secret? That means it's still called Jelly Bean. Build name JXX-something

QUOTE(chancsy @ Oct 30 2012, 01:02 AM) If it's still Jelly then would be 4.1.3? Read the articles. Clearly stated Android 4.2.

Anyone seen any video of the Nexus 4 demo-ing Miracast? Weird how almost none of the reviews tried this feature out, as it is IMO the most important feature on the Nexus 4.
Only found on YouTube some random Taiwanese company demoing Miracast using their own made adapter and another random device.

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Nov 3 2012, 12:36 PM) In the Verge review at Google HQ, the Google guys should be using them to show to The Verge guys. You see no cables around the phone and the reviewers are like looking at a bigger display. I think so But that's not 'demo' right? Like how the Nexus 7 had its display mirrored via microHDMI on Google I/O, only to have that port disappear in consumer units? Dammit. The lack of Wireless Display adapters that are compatible with Miracast is not helping.

Actually, HSPA+ signal is already in Malaysia. Under Settings -> About Phone -> Status -> Mobile network type, if it says HSPAP, means is HSPA+ (-P means plus). Just that the telco is not activating it for all users, only for their wireless BB customers.
On Maxis HSPA+ network, I got 5 Mbps down on my Galaxy Nexus before when good signal.

To those people saying that they will not buy the Nexus 4 because of the jacked up price,
Will you buy any other phone now, knowing that those phones are also being sold at jacked up prices?
Let's assume Google Play is selling the Nexus 4 at cost price. The rumored LG price is retail price. From here we agak agak know how much an average flagship phone is jacked up by.
Having that knowledge, will you still buy an S3, or a Note 2, or whatever ~Rm2k flagship device?
You'll be a hypocrite if you say you'll consider other ~Rm2k flagship devices, because those devices are jacked up by about the same amount as well. Just that the cost price was not publicly known.

Erm, I don't think Google is subsidizing ANY Nexus devices. Dan Morrill, who works at Google, asked "I admit, I LOLed. What on Earth makes you think Google subsidizes the Nexus devices?" to a post by Linus Torvalds criticizing Engadget's piece on the iPad Mini, which the author replied to the post saying something about Nexus devices being subsidised. https://plus.google.com/1021506932251300029...sts/8KBkzumMEc1Ctrl+F "Dan Morrill" to get to that specific comment.

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Nov 6 2012, 10:34 PM) Ahhh... back to the time when GNex just started its thread. 52 pages is nothing compared to XeactorZ spending few versions saying that he would buy the phone (about 10 versions?) and ended up not buying it. Now GNex is V19 already, go figure. lol Wait. I didn't follow the thread closely. He ended up not buying the GNex? LOL. NATO la tuuuu. Legend status already.

I'd seriously wait until JBQ gives the green light for full AOSP support before handing over the money for an N4. Never quite seen a Nexus device that does not launch with AOSP support with its first shipment.

QUOTE(blugear @ Nov 23 2012, 08:23 PM) Not really... remember i9100G? hehe... AFAIK, i9100G now is considered the superior model, especially in the developers circle due to the TI OMAP CPU. CM10.1 already ported to it with minimal issues. i9100 still having all sorts of hwc problems. @tcmean must try the *#*#info#*#* LTE toggle see M'sia got testing LTE or not So far it's just hearsay which band LTE here will be using so... Although LTE Band 4 was supported for now, all hope is not lost. Just waiting for software profile to be activated for other bands: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6474/nexus-4...e-on-band-4-awsQUOTE ... I tore down the Nexus 4 to ascertain whether PAs were present that could work with LTE, and saw indeed that at least bands 4, 2, and 1 did have Avago power amplifiers (A5704, A5702, and ACPM–7251) which noted support for LTE. The remaining piece of the puzzle was software stack, both in Android and inside the version of the AMSS (Advanced Mobile Subscriber Software) running onboard MDM9215M.... QUOTE The conclusion is that the Nexus 4 at present curiously includes the software profile on MDM9215M that enables support for LTE on Band 4 (AWS), and users only need to set the appropriate network type preference in Android to use it. None of the other bands that there are even power amplifiers for have LTE support, which is unfortunate for users in places where carriers aren't running LTE on AWS, such as the USA. ...
