I'm waiting to see how Google & LG will handle the firmware and stuff.
If it's anything like the whole yakju debacle Samsung had with my Galaxy Nexus, where I had to flash stock "pure Google" yakju firmware just to get updates on time, then I'll pass on this one and probably wait a year to see what Jolla (ex Meego) and Firefox OS come up with before deciding.

Looks like a decent piece of hardware though, and I must admit the price is quite attractive. Storage space seems a problem (sorry, I don't trust "the cloud"), but I don't really play games like The Bard's Tale (3GB+) on the phone anyway.

Then we shall see what price you are bringing it in... hahahaha. its really an excellent phone by looking at the specs and new functionality.

fuk i am sold, nexus 4 and nexus 10 is very good stuff.. lg optimus g already very powerful see the bench and review, but held back by the LG UI and ICS, this new JB and fully stock, confirm flying and fully utilize s4 pro.. if 16gb around 1.2k then i will buy, else i ask my fren at US ship for me..

LG have a decent presence here in Singapore where I live. Maybe you can order one from SG instead. Might even save you a few bucks compared to importing from US/AU/TW/etc.


IPS is better than the fake oversaturated colour you get from Amoled, imho. Only advantage Amoled has is the deep black. IPS tends to have wider gamut, and newer IPS screens tend to draw less power than even the latest Samoled variants. Plus, I've yet to see any Amoled display come close to the color rendition of the S-LCD2 IPS on the HTC One X.

Then again, it's all to do on the quality of IPS display. For the price they're selling teh Nexus 4 at, I doubt they'll be using a top-of-the-line Sharp IGZO panel. If it's close to the HTC One X, I'll be happy.

Personally, have not tried them but my friends who did, says they are reliable. But they may jack up package weight fees to charge higher shipping. I intend to buy both the nexus 4 and 10 and from their website, based on a 3kg package, the shipping rate is less than usd 50 for 2 day priority shipping to Malaysia. I am not sure if google charges shipping to send to hopshopgo warehouse but even if they do, charges should be minimal.

As for tax, computers are not taxable. Only thing is the phone which may require sirim approval but some say for personal use, less than 3 units, that requirement is waived
