is the 30% discount still available at TU? Or was that a one-off offer.

Are there any strings attached to it? ie: only older models or certain models above a certain price etc etc ?


i only ask because some time ago, 12-18 mths ago i think i went there and asked whoever was manning the cashier whether there were discounts and all i got was a snooty response, "No, we don't do discounts!"

so i find it odd, actually funny is the real word, that you are offering discounts now

as far as shops that sell kits these days there are few and far between, for KL/Klang Valley you can try:

- Tamiya Underground in One Utama New Wing Basement 2 Level - but theirs are , surprise, surprise limite dto Tamiya stuff only.

- HHQ in Frasers Biz Park, off Jalan Tun Razak (the old F&N factory) - but their automobile / bikes stuff is not the largest but you can still find a kit or two of interest but if you want planes, ships and tanks thats the place to go.

- Daisheng in Petaling Street - they are the guys behind the Toy City outlets which are rapidly disappearing. They have a few Tamiya kits but a whole load of Aoshima and Fujimi. Two weeks ago they had a special offer as the guy said they are trying to clear their stock - buy 3 Fujimis at $69.90 each and you get a free fourth, for Aoshima its buy two at $129.90 each and you get one free

like you i have just got back into the "mood" but for now am just collecting my sets and equipment before i start to sit down and build them - my pet project being a Fujimi Ford GT-40 and a Fujimi Porsche 917K which are to be decked out in Gulf Racing colours, when i can find a suitable blue to match the Gulf Racing blue. Both kits were bought from the sale threads in the LYP & SMM forums
