When selling or buying iphone, disclose serial number for warranty check, is it safe?

No need to disclose it freely. Most of time they just want to check for warranty purpose. So you can do screen capture of the warranty page, while blacking out your serial number. Buyer can verify that while doing COD.

About its safety, not that it will be much of issue. But better be safe than sorry.

Last time I've heard that reporting a unique number to telcos is just limited to its IMEI.

you never what those thief's or scampers capable of doing with the IMEI ..better to keep it secret .
