Because Japanese car supplier is already here. European supplier mostly kaput unless few strong ones (GKN, ALMA, BOSCH, HELLA, VALEO).

why need foreign partner when proton already has lotus? if lotus cannot provide whatever proton need, why still keep feeding lotus?

Proton shud go for VW. Adding another J-dna cars wont give them any advantage in local market.. Pipu would go straight away to honda it toyota should they wanted the J-dna cars... This is stupid.. Proton, go dai...

Can't wait for the Proton to go JV with with Honda and unleash the Proton Civic....selling for RM70K plus...then watch all the Honda Civic pipul butthurt...biggrin.gif
