I have an ipad 2 and recently i have bought another ipad 3. I noticed that the battery life for the ipad 3 is shorter than that of the ipad 2. Also the charging time for the ipad 3 is also much longer compared to the ipad 2 using the same charger. Anyone have the same experience?

Same here but mine is on 3G 24/7. When I nearly bought it the battery life was around 10 hours now reducing. I'm a heavy user though.

Just did some googling and found that battery capacity of iPad 3 is nearly double that of the iPad 2 which explains the much slower charging of the iPad 3 compared to iPad 2. The larger battery capacity is needed as the newer retina display is very power hungry.

To speed up the charging, consider getting the new 12W charger from Apple. Selling in SG now. Even cheaper than original 10W charger. Should cut down charging by 2 hours.

my ipad 3 can last for 3-5 days if i just use for browsing internet. if i play heavy graphic games (mw3,fifa,nfs), it'll last me for a day.

Charging time longer as the battery capacity is higher.
Don't really recommended to buy a higher voltage charger to charge as it will heat up your iPad more and shorten the life span.

Third party apps consume more battery than normal..especially free apps..u can try googling and see wat they said..juz my 2 cents..

I just wipe my ipad and start fresh with new iOS 6.0.1, what I noticed is the battery on iPad 2 is crap.. Now, 4hours 10minutes usage and battery is already at 38%..

ipad 3 running quad-core GPU if you playing graphic sure consume a lot
