They're opening up an OZ server soon, i was wondering if anyone is in beta/interested to play this game?

I am in the beta now, and to be honest, it is not looking good. The performance issue is the main problem here, as i am running with 20fps in heavy battles.

Gameplay wise, it is fun as hell, just like Battlefield, but much larger in scale. Business model wise, i think it alright, but being a free to play game, it is difficult to fully enjoy one without paying for something.

Are there many players on the beta? BTW this game is looking good and never ending battles

same haha, 20-30 fps in really intense battles with everything maxed out and my rig is not exactly low end.

is there a leveling system? or is it unlocking class/weapon feature?

yeah, they call it "cert". basically you play the game alot and you get points to invest in better weapons, Armour, abilities etc.

yeap i'm in the beta, it's tonnes of fun really. but yeah, the fps problem is somewhat less satisfactory..

i got the same cpu as you, and because the game is cpu bound and not gpu bound, expect the fps to drop to 30-40 in intense battles.

I have no interest in OZ servers as population wise, it will suffer as in the long run, the servers will be dead. The lag are easy to overcome, its a matter of practice

the last update and all was a whooping 5 GIGS. ah darn.

Confirmed playing. Tried US server. Client unstable and lots of retarded stuff happened. Enjoyed the concept and ran over some Vanus and NC. Interested in joining an outfit for Oz server but since patch so big, I haven't had time to test out ping.

Just got an invite to beta lol. How playable is the game without microphone? I don't play BF.

The F2P Model is looking to shape up quite nicely, hope there more improvements before launch

launch is around next week already right, and yeah, it's still playable without microphones. i'd just follow squad/platoon's waypoints..

just finished download before went to pray.. create a char just want to explore and learn about the game mechanic. teleport to battlefiled and walking around before came an airship attacking me and crash on me. really bad 1st time experience. lol

Gotta join up with a platoon punya. Ermm.. I think for now Reddit has a test outfit which is kinda organised. I'm not sure about latency to Aus and US. Someone needs to check it out since right now they haven't fixed the client properly yet so my com goes crazy whenever I play.

which server u all play in? i tried AUS its smooth and not as low pop as the server indicator dictate.
which faction most of u joined? i play as new conglomerate but really got overwhelmed by terran last night.

the bad thing is that you can't change servers mid-way, kinda sucks if your friends would join other servers. sticking on the VS, they have close to no bullet-drop

i joined helios(us west i think) server rated high pop using 5mbps unifi, can kill.. lag is not really bad, but can see ppl teleporting if they're not near your location. Most of the time no teleportation but once got alot of ppl, gg.com.my

I think Terran Republic has the best guns and also the best main battle tanks.

been doing overnight download for this game cause my 1mbps line too slow for this big game client. saw that the download completed after woke up today try to click but steam client not responding and crash. restart comp and reopen steam again to see that not only i cant play planetside2 but also dota2 and tf2. all the steam game become corrupt. now redownloading again.

dem, how to tell the diff between friendly and opponent? now i target someone press q all the way then shoot , sometimes still get friendly fire >.<

stupid ppl always run infront of ur line of fire, i dunno kill how many friendlies d coz of that
only way to tell them apart is from the color or armor design, or the name.. only friendly has name tag above them

you dont have crashing problem with 2gb ram only?
that mean that its not memory problem la.
i got this problem that crashing the game every 30min or something.
thinking of upgrading my system to 64bit.

Its memory problem.
You should have at least 4gb ram.
I am going to format to 64 bit and add some ram.

there is a temporary fix for crashing issue.
got this from reddit. works for me (now can play 1hour+)

run it in command prompt with admin.
might not work for all ppl.

problem occur during trying to launch the game on "PLAY" button or playing a while then crash?
If launch the game and get error, shd be controller problem ; try unplug it and launch.
If playing and crash...shd be not enuf ram

i joined NC bcoz VS already dominated the server. its no fun to me if we just bully others.
i like to struggle from underdog team. more meaningful when we manage to capture a station.

no, VS did not dominate the whole server.. terran is
just go to the warp point and look at the other 2 maps, VS only conquered one.. the other 2 is terran

How do you know which faction dominate the server?

I thought we can see the percentage total of factions through the map?

if u go to the warp console, u can choose to warp to the other 2 continents.. there u can see which empire is ruling the continent

by default, players r deployed at Esamir which is currently ruled by VS, last i checked.. Amerish and Indar is ruled by the terran republic. I went to Indar to try to help expand the territory but dayum, the terran presence at Indar is godly. Lost 4 sectors to them in less than 2 hours time

gah the graphic optimization is kinda bad. When in about more than 5 ppl around or open space combat.. my fps is less than 15 or so.

I get some kills by spraying all over lol. I guess i'm going to hold on from full time playing this till i upgrade or something. Granted my rigg is just Q2D q9550 and ATI 5870.

is that in lowest setting?
i also play in lowest setting so that even in platoon war my fps nvr drop lower than 25.
im never about graphic. smooth gameplay is much more important for me.
but this game really need big resource. if not for that tweak i never be able to play on this 32bit system.
