A good start is take some photograhy class and write down your needs. Its better to get one good camera rather that upgrading all the time. DSLR might be a good choice. You just have to consider your budget and the things you are going to do with it.

SLR-Single Lens Reflex uses a mirror to reflect the image you see. Meaning what you see from the viewfinder is what you will get. The image is reflected from the lens to the film and also the the viewfinder. With the introduction of digital technology a new type of SLR called DSLR was born. Now it is refelected to digital light capture plate and also the viewfinder. Normal camera -point and shoot camera on the other hand, have 2 holes - one from the lens and one from the viewfinder. What you actually sees from the viewfinder is just from the upper hole. The lens below might have a totally different view. In terms of functions, I see lots of normal camera actually is catching up. With the ability to switch to manual and have lots of control and tweaking but you can never view the real exact image that is reflected on the film or plate. |
