The thing is, Malaysian's level of english vocab sucks hard.

OEM = original item manufactured by original factory, usually these oem items were customers set but were sent back for warranty / repair due to problem(s), so the company repaired them and now they are being resold as OEM with limited (usually 1 week) or no warranty at all.
Sometimes OEM items can be the original items bought the staffs of the company at a staff price, then resell them, also with limited warranty.

Typical Malaysians misuse the word OEM as fake but high quality item. Which is why i like to punch every sellers who sell fake items but called them as OEM.

OEM means, that manufacturer produces parts for a certain company with company branding

eg. proton oil filter with proton logo bla bla bla, same company then produce the same filter but stamp another logo but will fit proton car 100% no issue that oil filter is oem part lo.

Asus is example of ppl who manufacture intel OEM motherboard. And Intel do manufacture their own motherboard. In other word oem is licensed manufacturer.

OEM term has been abused by seller who try to sell fake imitation product.

OEM product was not meant to be sell to end user, but they somehow get slipped to the retail market.

in ipoh got 1 factory is the OEM for swatch, and other brand Swiss watch. no ppl know that factory until lately someone slip out few dozen of swatch.

OEM = your asus laptop inside punya hard disk is seagate ....your seagate hdd is OEM 1 (asus buy huge amount hdd from seagate so they can get lower price , but seagate wont support and cover after sales service)


if your hdd faulty ..u can claim your warranty from asus BUT not direct to seagate
