Yes you can do those steps first to be safe, but the restore process itself should also auto wipe before it restores.Samsung Galaxy Note II LYN's Official Thread V6, RM2299 It's here!! Woohoo!!!!!

QUOTE(KuLi @ Oct 29 2012, 04:18 PM) the most likeliest cause is that u may had pressed the power button accidentally. Oh yeah forgot about this.needless to say, like the s3 by locating it by the side makes it flimsy and clumsy to use. the more proper location wld be at the top of the device, since u r going to use 2 hands to handle it anyway. For those who is first time using samsung phones, LONG PRESSING the POWER BUTTON will either off or reboot your phone (depending how long u press). It does not matter screen on, screen off, in lockscreen, playing a game etc. this feature bypasses everything. Can also be used if your device hang or to get out of download mode (so please STOP taking out your battery) |

QUOTE(RaveAramashi @ Oct 29 2012, 04:19 PM) Thanks a lot dude. Feels a lot more confident now. It's my first Android, so I just wanna make sure everything is done properly No problem. Its good that you read up first and ask about things you are unsure off. Hope more new users to android can be like that. |

QUOTE(blackrobin @ Oct 29 2012, 04:45 PM) @antt00 - bro how's thunderbolt script doing in stock rom lol.. ? Yes agree on the older apps. Even xda paid app stutter and they are the developer community. IMO, the transition animation and scrolling across the system are fairly smooth. but certainly not in apps build on older version of android. you'll still see considerable stuttering when scrolling in them. they just aint made for JB. Tell you what, thunderbolt did not break anything. QUOTE(RViN @ Oct 29 2012, 05:06 PM) Actually the location on the side is convenient as you can access it easily using 1 hand, rather than reaching to the top of the phone to unlock/lock the screen Yes i agree that the button at the side is more convenient to user. But his point is also true that there is a bigger chance of accidental pressing the power button at this location compared to being at the top. |

QUOTE(RViN @ Oct 29 2012, 05:11 PM) Actually if you realise, compared to the S2, the location is slightly lower so its easier to reach, on the S2 it was higher. The accidental pressing can happen with tight jeans or similar situation (real life experience). Of cos normal using will not have any accidental pressing.Actually to accidentally press it, you need to hold it for at least 3-5 seconds, cause initially the shutdown/reboot window will appear before actually force shutting down |

QUOTE(cocoscrapy @ Oct 29 2012, 06:50 PM) Qucik question, normally when you purchase the device in any maxis outlets they open for checking or they just sell the sealed set?Thank you in advance I bought from maxis at the garden. The sales lady open in front of me and ask me to check for physical damage. Then she proceed to test all function in *#0*# in front of me. Very professional to also know about that. Also please check your usb cable connection as some people complain about loose connection before u leave the counter. |

QUOTE(kuntakinte @ Oct 30 2012, 09:56 AM) Yep, from my experience in rooting the S3, your software status will be changed to 'modified' upon rooting. Which is why you need triangle away to not only reset your rom counter but it also changes the status from 'modified' to 'Samsung original' Triangle away will not change the status. It only reset the counter. You need to change back to stock recovery to change the status. |

Speaking of sd card, been using my kingston 32gb for more than 1 year now. No issue at all so far. Totally agree that it depends on luck to get a card that does not rosak fast.
