tried format from the phone? pc especially older windows can really mess up files in high capacity sd card.

Mine is completely silent. Probably capacitor quality issue for our malaysia batch since many reported similar problem. This is usually the case for low quality fake chargers available out there. But do take notice of the heat of your phone (battery), if its abnormally warm during charging do stop using it and go claim replacement. This is caused by irregularities in the charge from the charger and can cause damage to the battery in the long run and also the phone. If its normal warmth, then it should be fine.

This is completely incorrect. Charge/drain anytime any percentage. The only way to prolong your battery is to plug in power 24/7 which no sane ppl will do. Just dont worry and 'rocket science' about note 2 battery already and use it and charge it whenever you need. Replace it when it no longer hold charge in future..please folks, help full stop about note 2 battery anxiety already..

Ok lets do facts checking one by one here since i m being ignorant here and with the spirit of posting only correct info to help visitor to this thread.

1. To lengthen battery life span, avoid/minimize full charge
- You can't full charge li-ion batteries, your 100% on screen is not actual 100% charged. Modern batteries have a built in mechanism to cut off when this threshold is reached.

2. To lengthen battery life span, avoid/minimize full drain.
- Again, you cant fully drain to 0% in all ori battery, there is a cut off reserve to avoid permanent damage to li-ion

3. Preferable, use your phone until battery dropped to 5-10%, then charge up to 95%
- Lithium ion chemistry prefers partial, bite-size discharge to big discharge, say 5% to 95% in your example. Your battery can have longer life if you charge it often rather than charging it in one full charge.

4. Full charge/ full drain will exhaust the battery even quicker.
- You can't. Refer 1 and 2.

Anyway, the misconceptions on battery charging happened when we read sites with lab information on battery charging best practices than the actual current advances in battery manufacturing processes in the industry.

Aiyo bro, i didn't invent the cut off mechanism la, its been an industry standard for almost a decade already...if its not reliable, Apple/HP/SONY had probably kena gazillions of lawsuits on battery already.

And of course a battery can full discharge and dies one day if leave on table untouched for a month...unless it is a macbook air. You are missing on the context on what we are discussing. We are talking about day to day charging practice of the phone, not talking about leaving the phone discharge while you go holiday for a month. Thats why every manual you read says keep 50% charge if you battery not used for long period of time. But what im saying is that the battery will not fully discharge until unusable within your normal day to day use, otherwise you wont be using the phone.
