v5 is available but not officially supported by them. So if you ran into problems, they will not help you.

Oh yeah I got this problem with WRT54G v2.2 + DD-WRT v23 SP1 final where I got occasional timeout when surfing. Any ideas?

All WRT54G family uses the same default firmware, there is no firmware difference between WRT54G and WRT54GL. If you're afraid that your friend were cheated, you can check from the back of the router to check the serial number prefix to verify the version of his router.

Any linux gurus here?
I am trying to set an iptables rule inside the DD-WRT by dropping netbios between the 1st ethernet port and the 2nd ethernet port but from ifconfig it only has eth0 and eth1, I am afraid that 1 of them is the WAN port. AFAIK it is possible to seperate both ethernet ports with VLAN then use iptables to link & firewall the specific port. Can anyone guide me through this?

FYI both ethernet ports connected to seperate LANs and I want to link them together but requires to firewall netbios ports.

5. Rflow collector
6. Load balancing works but failover doesn't. So when 1 of WAN is down, your load balancing can go down the drain.

I havent actually configured it, but basically that is the limitation which has been discussed over & over again in the DD-WRT forum.

man tc
