I'm not sure secure and easy setup works with DD-WRT i think not because i flash my brother version 4 with DD-WRT the LED just lid on and nothing happened configured it using http://192.168.1.1

Ya, because the original linksys firmware has an option to disable the secure easy setup under the advance settings. I usually disable this option to turn off the SES light. Therefore, i am wondering whether is there an option to disable it in the latest DD-WRT V23? After i flashed to this DD-WRT the SES light is lid on, i wanna turn it off. Thanks !!!

Just hold it , Just hold the Linksys' Light for a while

It would change color and eventually it will turn off

I got another question, I noticed that my wireless network card require a longer time to acquire network addresses from the linksys router around 10 to 15 sec because i set it to automatically obtain address. I don't have such problem before I flashed to this DD-WRT, I mean when using the original linksys firmware. So, now I manually set the IP address for my network card.

To prasys: I press and hold on that SES button for few seconds and it turn white color but it did not lid off. After i switch off the router and turn it on, the SES light lid on and turn yellow again, swt!!! heheh!!! dunno why rclxub.gif

I've a question regarding QoS, I have already set the ports for BT, emule and etc, but for HTTP, which port u guys using ? 80 or 0-80 or what ? How bout online video streaming, ftp downloading those ? need to set as well ? or just set 0-80 or 0-1024...etc ?

1) Can someone enlighten us on matter above??

2) BTW, how to capture all the ports that use by BT to put in QOS??

3) Under the packet scheduler got 2 option to choose from, HTB and HFSC. Whats the diff between the two?

4) Another things is, i find it confusing when using the netstat -n to identify ports use by some programs, i dunno which is the actually the port number stated there. Thanks in advance!!!!!

use netstat -o to find the list of processes n the ports used. then open up task manager (ctrl+alt+del), click on view then check the pid box. here u can check which process uses which port. hope this helps. if u really wanna block bt then just use the access restriction option. check the 'block all p2p' checkbox to block bt. if u really2 wanna block bt ultimately then block all ports ranging from 6000 to 65000. this way bt wont event connect at all.

Under the netstat -o, I notice that there are 2 types of numbering stated just behind the local address and the foreign address of each processes, are these also port numbers?? Should I be using them or just take the PID number? Thanks!!!

[Which port to use in QOS for the attachment below??]

those numbers after the local/foreign address are the port numbers used by the processes. pid numbers are just for reference so that u know which application/process use which port.
*
The funny things is the PID number change everytime i load the same program. So, not that accurate oh. For example, now I play WOW, the PID shows 1234 but when i restart my com and play WOW again it got a different PID number like 2345. So how to fix that?? Thanks!!

4)One of the columns from "netstat" should have output like IP-Address:Port. Last field after IP and ":" is port number. Meanwhile, PID is process ID and don't have any relation for QoS.

Thanks for the detail explanation, another question is regarding the port u mentioned above:-

1) I should be taking the port under the Local Addresses or the Foreign Addresses column to put in the QOS???

2) Whats the diff between the port from local and foreign?? Thanks !!!!

3) Regarding the ports for BT, what port range u all put in the QOS to be set in BULK option??? Is it the port that is use to port forward??
