Are there any detail guides on setting wrt54g to act as router mode? After connection, the gateway appeared isn't 192.168.1.2 but it begins with 219.Suppose to be the one we set in the first page, right? Thanks.

QUOTE(snowmei @ Apr 23 2007, 07:07 AM) first of all.. gateway is the medium that you use to connect to outer world.. Thanks, will give it a try.By the way,we no need to enable DHCP server on wrt54g if want to use in router mode, right?Just don't understand why my old notebook can connect the wireless network can connect the wireless network while new one can't.Both also using WPA2.Thanks.so if you use your router to dail the adsl.... gateway will begin with 219.,218,60.... if you connect the router to the modem and ask the modem to dail the adsl... then the gateway will follow the ip set by the modem..... set the wrt54g as router mode.. just go setup>basic setup ... change the connection type to automatic configure - DHCP... remember to change the settings inside your modem, enable DHCP and disable bridge mode... |

Performance and range wise,is it worthwhile to get whr-hp-g54 instead of whr-g54s?Does MIMO function provides any improvement compare to whr-g54s(both using dd-wrt firmware)? Thanks in advance.

QUOTE(azmihamzah @ Mar 18 2008, 08:29 AM) It's not MIMO router but MIMO Performance router. It only has built-in power booster which whr-g54s don't. Ok thanks. Is it true that we can only use 10mW ( read about it from ddwrt forum but the post was around a year ago, dunno if it's for latest dd-wrt firmware ) ?Can anyone enlighten me?Thanks in advance.Funny thing is, in US market they called it as "High Power" router not "MIMO Performance". Maybe it's only a marketing hype... Added on March 18, 2008, 3:37 pm QUOTE(tictac @ Mar 18 2008, 11:54 AM) i am using whr-g54s right now. so far so good. no problem compare to my linksys wap54g. The signal strength is ok also but the antenna sma connector to deep so cannot use big antenna. Must cut abit arround the connector to be able to use big rp-sma antenna. I am using 10dbi omnidorectional antenna right now. Wow,you even changed the antenna..That means this model is ok then, since the stock antenna should be fine for me,for normal usage only.Just curious, how could your router load reach 100%?Hehe..Thanks.Added on March 18, 2008, 1:13 pmFree wifi aku down jap ni. Akunya router load sampai 100% jem trus xleh connect internet. hehe... tgh troubleshooting ni. This post has been edited by Guardian: Mar 18 2008, 03:38 PM |
