To the Thread starter. You are not lurking enough aren't you ?

I was about to buy sharp PDA when I was in UK,but too bad i have no enough monay back then.

For a true 1337ness you should go for Sharp Zaurus C3100. This is the actually 1st PDA that has built-in 4gb HDD ( step aside palm lifedrive ! ). It has big 3.7 inches VGA Sharp Aquos Standard LCD ( You know this is the best ) and packed with QWERTY keyboard. The only gripe is this model is only available in Japan. Which means the manuals is also in Japanese. But hey there is Dynamism.com that imports Japanese goods and deliver it to your doorstep ! The retail price is $899.00.

The Sharp Zaurus SL-C3100/3000 (and SL-C1000) is the fifth generation of the groundbreaking SL-C line of LINUX-based PDAs. The SL-C3100 and SL-C3000 are the only PDAs on the market with an internal HDD. The 4gb drive offers unparalleled storage (for a PDA) and opens up myriad new options--including using the Zaurus as a portable media player. The SL-C1000, on the other hand, is a similar model without the HDD. Both units have a compact flash and SD slots. And, since the Zaurus's HDD is plug-n-play recognized by Windows, moving data is by USB 2.0 connection is fast and easy.

Sharp is a display technology leader, and the Zaurus uses a 3.7" VGA (640x480) screen that is truly awesome: bright and razor sharp. And there's a built-in zoom function that allows you to zoom the screen in five increments. Each step is larger than the previous, but none suffers any loss of quality. The screen's orientation automatically adjusts when swiveled. It's a very impressive design. (There's even an optional VGA-out connection, intended for people who want to use the Zaurus to give presentations.)

The swiveling screen transforms the shape of the Zaurus from PDA-style to laptop-style. (The Zaurus is fully-functional either way.) Once in laptop-style, you can utilize the QWERTY keyboard, with its great tactile feedback.

Other technical specs include an Intel XScale PXA270 processor (416mhz), 64mb RAM, and 16mb flash ROM (128mb for the SL-C3100).. The two slots (1 CF, 1 SD) are I/O, so they support wireless connectivity (such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi). There is a stereo-out for MP3 playback. The Zaurus SL-C3100/3000 measures 4.9x3.4x1.0 inches (124x87x25mm), and weighs 0.65 pounds (298g) while the SL-C1000 has the same dimensions, but is a slightly lighter at 0.61 pounds (278g).

The SL-C3100 features black casing and the SL-C3000 has pearl white casing.

The first build in 4GB HDD should be SL-C3000 from Sharp Zaurus. I have a unit White-Color about 1 year ago. (Directly from Japan)

I love the PDA and it's converted to English Interface, with Wifi Card, Usb host cable. However, I would like to sell my SL-C3000. Please PM me if you are interested.

Reason why I want to release this is because I got the latest model SL-C3100 biggrin.gif

The SL C3100 is a really cool piece of gadgetry. I just bought mine last week for about 61000 yen from Akihabara and am still not finished with the customizations. happy.gif

BTW, I know this is a little OT, but I do have a question for all those experienced travellers who buy fancy gadgets from overseas. How do you get past M'sian Customs? I'm sure those greedy taxmen will try to find an excuse to make some money off this sad.gif
Are electronics goods like these taxable? I also bought a Sony DSC V3 for 51000 yen. I hope I don't get charged too much....
