Does anyone agree with me that buying an iPad 2 is the most pointless thing right now? After yesterdays launch of the iPad mini and the iPad 4th gen, I cannot see the point of buying the iPad 2. The iPad mini has a better camera, 4G, with the same resolution and processor as the iPad 2 and is cheaper than the iPad 2, and the iPad 3 can be bought for RM1379. Why would anyone buy an iPad 2 new right now?

the ipad mini is cheaper than the ipad 2 with a better camera. The camera on the ipad 2 is just pathetic.

Without Jobs around, things are getting worse. yesterday Apple's event, is most likely a heartbreaking event.

1) iPad 4 launched and iPad3 just obsoleted(just 6 months in the shelves)
2) Macbook 13" w/ Retina - The price is the issue here.
a) Compare to MBP 13" non-Retina : Why would one topped up extra 1.6k for a better screen and double the RAM?
b) Compare to 15" Retina : Just merely 1k and you get a better spec of 15". Don't you wanna do saving for another month to get something better?

You see, without Steve Jobs, things are getting complicated in Apple, unlike before things are simple.

i think instead of buying ipad 2, top up a little bit, and get ipad 4 with new A6 is way way better.

Yeah, Apple product line is getting a lil' complicated without Steve Jobs. Who knows next year around March Apple may suddenly introduce the new iPad 5 or iPhone 6?

Apple is not 'unique' anymore, sad.

It's like Apple when to the grave with Jobs after yesterday launch event

Correction: The 13inch Retina MBP has 128GB of Flash Drive, which is a SSD btw. SSD cost more than standard HDD that are found on the normal MBP. That explains the vast gap in terms of price comparison.

In all honesty, I don't understand why consumers these days feel that the company owes us the product we purchase in ensuring that their line of product maintains its premium status. I myself have bought an iPad2 for myself. Also my wife bought an iPad3 only months ago. Why should our right mind that we be butthurt over a new announcement of a replacement model? Does it means that Apple sold us mediocre product? Does my ipad2 and ipad3 nonfunctioning as it should?

In today's moderm world, It is fast creating new tech and gadgets. What is new and sleek today may be outdated and boring tomorrow. Its time that consumer stop buying stuff just for showoffs and actually use it for its main intended purpose. Its like buying fresh bread. Tomorrow bread is fresher than the bread purchased today, but is it logic to complain to grocers that they feel cheated over buying something that is slightly outdated than the ones that just arrived? Here's an advice, buy what you need and be contented. By all means use your gadget to its best optimal performance until the last light flickers.

My family uses an iPad 2 with 3G (when iPad 3 was launched). Its simple , the 3G model for iPad 2 is cheaper and it does all the basic things. Web surfing - check , always-on-the-go access with 3G - done , big screen (easier for my parents etc) - check. I don't see any issue here

It goes the same for iPad 1 , a lot of people are still using it and it serves them well as well

Compare this, compare that. What is wrong with people these days? Apple is just another company that produces products, just like any other. If you are disappointed with any product at all, don't buy it. It's as simple as that. If you have already bought an iPad 3 recently, enjoy it. It's not like it does not serve it's purpose. I too bought an iPad 3 only 2 months ago.

Products keeps being introduced every now and then, some sooner than you'd like. Seriously, stop keeping up with tech.

i don't think ipad2 is bad, i dunno how many of you here really own ipad3? if you really own ipad3 most major complaining ipad3 over ipad2 is weight.

if you really fully utilize the ipad2 and ipad3, you will agree ipad2 still will on shelf is reasonable.

steve job just so lucky that keep bringing new product in past few years. iphone, ipod touch and ipad....
so making himself like a legend. he just get the idea all from startrek, turn science fiction, into reality, into device.

but after steve job died, as an apple employee should be very pressure now.
they sure have a hard time to think about a new product for apple.
because if you think carefully, all of the new mac hardware or software are now copied from iOS or idevice itself from UI design to hardware design.

maybe it's just a down session for apple now.... good luck apple.

They have a good range of products, but just the pricing issue here where i think they have to find adjustment. Launching a new product of the same family within a short period is so unlikely to be Apple's behaviour, based on previous style.

Hopefully they can do better in year 2013, otherwise they'll be going down like history again.

9.7-7.9 = 1.8
7.9-5.5 = 2.4
I said not much different, if u compare side to side, the ratio is the same for iPad mini n iPad .
