QUOTE(RedShirt @ Nov 19 2012, 01:28 PM) Yeah, read about that warning in my email by the organizers. can u post the new route? just charted the route based on this map of 10K, and seems that the real hill started at 6.9K till 8K. Might go there run with my bro in law As a noob, I will only find out the difficulty level when I am actually at the course running it. |

im pretty sure d 800m climb is not that steep, but just as precaution, take it slowly n as ur hill warmup. do beware on third incline at 5K, its short but its real steep. whatever it is, u must control ur gaya, if not mistaken lots of photograper here;p n stupe does mean it for 12K runner second loops' "giving up".
btw there is 10% discount code for roadid. u may check both Dec n Jan 2013 runners magazine. not sure if its apropriate to share here. |

I've seen the videos to make it myself; you guys know where to get material? Usually how much is it? I want to use it just for walking first and go from there. Currently just started running barefoot at mpsj track -training with (very) short distance first. I would PM jonny2k but paiseh la " (Was it you I saw in MPIB 12k or are there others with huarache too?) |

QUOTE(ming24 @ Jan 21 2013, 11:32 PM) i'm going to run my first HM at Brook's event in march. Is it recommended to wear a waist pack with a bottle of water? Or just drink from the stations will do? Need some advice here to be on the safe side, wear n make it as reserved hydration for later part of distance. whenever possible / needed try to hydrate from waterstation. |

QUOTE(liewkm02 @ Jan 22 2013, 08:46 AM) have bad knees, in fact dr william chan (subang sports dr) said i have knees of a 60 y.o. although i was late 40's when i saw him for pain in my knees after running. have been on glucosamine/chondroithin eversince. regards your response...i do about 5-7 kms on 1 weekday and clock up about 20 kms or so on 1 weekend. i have reduced my frequency because of the condition of my knees. this pain i experienced is actually a new one...not connected or caused by my knee condition. it is probably an over-stretched ligament or inflammation of some sort. hmmm... ur mileage workout similar like me except we seperated like several years apart. any perscription from dr william? me found out personally that fish oil assisted me in knee sore (not pain) especially 20K above. plus with minimum heel strike n legs bend a bit rather than straight from hip to foot. of coz, i run slow |

QUOTE(Ball of Fish ball @ Feb 4 2013, 07:00 AM) .. i encounter pain on Plantar fascia after 10k run or jog, and before any activities i'll warm up and stretch my muscle about 1mins per muscle stretch .. anyhow to avoid or cure this injuries ? IMHO, if u able to spell 'plantar fascia' rather than 'foot / sole', u should know how critical these injury is. kindly rest from jog/run for now, d slow jog n 10k training wont go where. alternatively, try other exercise which not using plantar fascia. if u wakeup in the morning n feel the pain after standup, u might need to seek treatment. my2sen.kindly advise, many thanks |

QUOTE(Ball of Fish ball @ Feb 4 2013, 03:58 PM) well, already cut down the mileage from daily into once a week and doing some ball rolling massage underneath my feet .. just hope these injured cause by shoes and not running only .. get well soon it has been 5 freaking day since my last run. today after rain weather is way too superb, i wonder if i can hold my inner spirit from running again... QUOTE(kosinus @ Feb 4 2013, 05:01 PM) I just knew that need to call MBB card centre to release block paypal. THey will allow access until 12am after request. QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Feb 18 2013, 10:29 AM) Yeah it is less, mostly 6km / hiit. But I read in some website that it's better to eat a bit, for maximum oxygen bla bla that I've forgotten the details. Lol if u do HIIT, better hv some pre-workout meals due to its intensity. for me a spoon of peanut butter and a cup of plain coffee works everytime. banana works also. if u able to, for morning longer n easier run, try to run of empty / fasted state, it is to train fuel utilization and glycogen storage efficiency. i think the 'oxygen' u mention is v02max, maximum o2 can muscle use during exercise. it also can be achieved by easy run, at near top of aerobic zone.easy said (than done); eat clean to reduce weight, train hard to improve fitness. |

QUOTE(pgkia8 @ Feb 19 2013, 12:57 AM) I agree on the smooth part. But i really feel more tired running on a threadmill, perhaps its due to the constant speed. was exclusively run on dreadmill for early 2 years n when going road, i thought road is more tired. but nowadays when run more road n trails, going back to mills r more tired than the two, think it is mental strength QUOTE(lopo90 @ Feb 19 2013, 01:00 AM) I see, thanks alot. its differ. no sand. no mud. no stone to disturb you in other way, at least u got incline workout rather than nothing. heck, Matt Carpenter also trained on treadmill I got 1 more thing to ask. I'm new to treadmill, just found out today that you can incline it lol. Just wondering, is there any difference between running on a hill compare to an incline treadmill? There isn't any place nearby which is hilly enough. Closest is bukit gasing or mont kiara but im kinda lazy to go there. So is incline treadmill a good alternative to running on a hill? |
