Hi girls, I'm planning to bead a pair of kasut manik for my grandma, but I haven't got the idea on where to get everything that I need. =(

Kasut manik is basically the beaded shoes olden days nyonya wears. My grandma's a nyonya, so I thought it would be nice to make her a new pair because she's not wearing her old one anymore.

I've got some of the materials and tools, but I'm missing the most important canvas to bead on. D=

Any kind souls who would direct me to a place where I can get these?

- Mono canvas
- Penelope canvas
- Aida fabric

If you've made a pair of these pretty shoes too, please so share your thoughts with me! =D

I'm still unsure on which size to use if I ended up using the aida fabric.

I've got my beads from Miyuki and they are all 15/0 in size. =)

Probably you can try droppin my sister a call. you can call vivienne @ 016 212 9971. She might be able to help coz she has a bead shop at Kelana Jaya that's teachin accessories and nyonya shoe beading. Just some info to share, don't really know whether it helps or not.

You can try this http://www.beading.my/

Apart from that, you can also check out Macy at Jalan Sultan (Petaling Street area).

The entire Petaling Street areas are full of shops selling sewing stuffs.
Hope this helps.

If you're gonna use aida fabric you can use 18 count cross stitch aida fabric since u're having size 15 miyuki. But my sis advise that you use size 13 charlotte cut beads coz is looks a lil more glossy and it looks better when it comes to kasut manik. I believe you can get aida fabrics from petaling street, probably Macy's
