no prob bro. I think u and me have same doubts. Fraud, scam, m'sia custom problem, slow delivery, or watever that may arises from online purchase. Not bad mouthing newegg, but heard too many cases of others.

The only conservative way, "u give me physical item now, i give u cash now' can make me buy the item.

Have purchased a Nexus 7 32GB 3G through a relative in US. Bought online and delivered to New York. Has been delivered and now sitting there at my relative's place in New York. Happy and sad. Happy cos' managed to get one unit and safely delivered Sad cos' my relative only coming back in another 3 weeks time!  LOL

However, not very cheap because of the tax in New York State. It is a whopping USD27.78. Shipping charges to New York is another USD13.99 (according to UPS tracking, it delivered from Louisville, Kentucky, then to Newark New Jersey then to New York - 2 day shipping). All in cost me USD340.77, about RM1043 (at exchange rate of 3.06) or about RM1056 (if rate is 3.1). The state tax really kills. There are some states where there are no tax or cheaper rate of tax. Too bad mine was New York in this instance. But I can't complain too much, otherwise dunno wait until when only see the 3G model.

So if you are looking at the 32GB Wifi only model, faster grab from Newegg. Cheap. Too bad Newegg not offering the 3G model yet. But if you are aiming for that, faster grab from Newegg once they offer. (USD299 x 3.1) + RM49 = RM975.90 only. This is assuming no SIRIM charges. If kena SIRIM charges, add another RM100 = RM1075.90. Still ok. Not sure at all whether will kena Sirim or not, in any event.

But I seriously wonder how does Newegg make money...? And how come they can't offer the 3G model when it is readily available from Google Play?

The ideal one. That TI Omap 4470 chipset and THAT resolution.

Too bad too expensive liao. If budget permit then i won't wait.

for those who got 32GB N7 from Newegg, who to contact to place order?  Do they have a rep here who we can deal directly?  Anyone bought via Postage?  Most i saw here went to their office, grab and go but too bad i am in JB. 

Pretty fast. Conversing with them regarding my purchase, they usually reply within 1-2 days. I got every reply the next day after I replied to them though.
That means any other older Android phone will suffer from worse battery drain... sigh, looks like there's no option of going for the WiFi model. Have to wait it out for the 3G.
Any Android phone with Froyo (2.1) and newer software can. Settings > Wireless & Networks > Tethering & portable hotspot

Just to share to you my experience.

I accidentally dropped my Nexus 7 and cracked its screen, rendering it useless. After checking few internet forums (including this one), I decided to send for screen replacement at Asus Service Centre in Lowyat.

A quick chat with the service centre lady gave me these points to sum it up:
1) Most complains with regards to Nexus 7  is the durability of the screen
2) The screen easily cracks compared to other touch screen devices like the Ipad, kindle etc
3) Replacing screen alone is very expensive as it is not covered under warranty. I got charged RM 430!!!

So, what I can say is, do take extra care of your Nexus. Im already thinking of getting a cover case for mine and Lowyat has got many shops offering it between the range of RM40 to RM100++.

h/w + codec uses the Tegra chip to do the coding & decoding, so it is definitely more powerful compared to original settings (I assume it would be software decoding)

Generally understood that hardware decoding > software decoding. Never said that it was a universal rule. Some apps are better with software decoding even when run on powerful hardware BUT those apps are few and hard to come by.

EDIT: The Tegra is very much superior compared to other devices which the current media player apps have been written on which gives it an added advantage. Quad core > dual core when it comes to situations like these.
