I never thought I would be saying this but it's tiring to hold it constantly with one palm.

Erm... In fact... Holding Galaxy Nexus (4.65"), 137g (I think) is also tiring. Actually it's not the weight that matter but is the 'pose'. You can do that repetitively with ease (take up put down take up put down) but not keeping same 'pose' for long time. Time to train your finger muscle tongue.gif

I'm also waiting for 16GB Nexus 7 to be $199 at Newegg. But before this it's available for few days. But I checked few times... It's 249 not 199 doh.gif Or did I miss something? Maybe it rebate $50 or something? hmm.gif

I think the 249 could be the price before Google announce the 32GB one and drop the price of 16gb unit to 199. Newegg may be late to update or duno why. For some reason they are only selling the 32GB unit. cry.gif

Read somewhere Sony is restraining themselves or distancing themselves away from the tablet market since they said the profit margin is really slim now. I guessed for our country its still ok since cheaper tablet like the Kindle and Nexus 7, 10 doesn't come with the subsidized price. But for country like US i guessed even ipad is feeling the threat.

Ipad 3 really nice haha. But 10 inch is not the size for me. Imaging myself playing asphalt 7 during a lecture. My lecturer will kill me. tongue.gif

p/s: Even the 2nd hand price for ipad 2 is still high. 800 for a 2nd hand unit without warranty.
*
But the thing is... @ 249USD, the thing still sold out in few days. doh.gif

My kid has his year end concert and there was a professional camera fixed at the center. Despite the MC keep giving warning that everyone should be seated or if you take pictures, make sure don't disturb other people, nobody cared.

On both sides of the stage, there are big screen projector playbacks.... yet ppl still go to the center, in front of the paid pro camera, and block the view. At the end, the final piece is a group singing with the teachers, etc...both the projector screens showed only a pitch black blank screen. Bravo msia... this is the kind of inconsiderate ppl whom I label rude, completely rude.

Are you in the right thread?????

So what your 'experience' got to do with nexus 7? hmm.gif

Just in case anyone is interested and can't wait for Newegg to stock the 3G version, B&H has posted the 3G Nexus 7 for sale! 299.99, same price. Shipping = 50USD, totals to about RM1070. Don't know about whatever SIRIM/custom/duty/tax/etc that might bring along though. If anyone could enlighten me on those tax stuff that'd be cool... cheers.gif

yes, that's why so tempting, pay RM800+ and get it delivered to my doorstep.  The 16GB version was going for RM1k plus when it first available here via parallel import.  Luckily din buy that time.

Will pass the Tab 7.7 to wife for viewing videos/photos/etc and I will use the N7 32GB as mini gaming device.  The 16GB on Tab 7.7 almost used up already by all the big games.  rclxub.gif  I tested the internal/external memory swap but it is not so stable to use.  Since the 32GB N7 priced so attractive, no brainer to just grab one.
*
Did you even look at a N7 before?

Don't be shocked when you actually looked at one *hint: Super AMOLED Plus HD vs IPS(not-so-good-kind-of-ips)*

*
Watch this, from 1:49

Do you really need liquipel? And RM249 is 1/3 of the price of Nexus 7. Worth it?

Omg my friends 2 week old 32gb n7 cracked his screen today. Went to Asus Malaysia ask and they said the screen will cost 430 for replacement. But they said I could send it to 3rd party shops to repair and the warranty won't be void. Does anyone know anywhere that can replace the screen at a more reasonable price?
*
430?

Tell you friend wait newegg offer 16GB for 199 then he can get 16GB new one for 665 drool.gif

Want to ask about nandroid.

Reading from xda forums, unsure.

If eg. do nandroid backup for version 1, then upgrade rom higher to version 2 and then do nandroid full restore, the rom still remains as version 2 ... only the apps etc are restored. Is that true?

Or is everything incl. rom version 1 is restored?  rclxub.gif
*
Nandroid is like an image of your phone state at the point of backup.
It includes whole ROM + apps + user data (not your external media like pictures, songs etc. Referring to Apps data) + recovery.img + baseband etc
When you do a full restore from Nandroid, it returns your phone/tablet to the state when you did the backup.

You get what I mean??

Btw, you can choose to restore only certain part of nandroid then that is different case wink.gif

And I highly recommend you guys use TWRP as recovery as it allows nandroid backup to , say external USB thumb drives. Restoring has always been perfect for me so far. You will appreciate the space savings ( up to 2 GB per rom backup) especially if yours is a 16 GB unit

For rm430 seriously how much you can save using others? Probably less than a hundred . Is it worth it using other 3rd party
Is considered cheap considering other tablets you are looking at rm600+ region
*
Yea... Very cheap. 7" IPS screen cheaper than Galaxy Nexus 4.65" SA HD screen laugh.gif

QUOTE(Dwango @ Nov 26 2012, 10:10 AM)
OKay thanks for the info. So you are saying AP set for Nexus 7 is covered for everything, and warranty claim can be done at the local Asus service centres. If that's the case, will there be an "original" Nexus 7, since there won't be any difference between an AP and original set.

Don't have time to go through all the pages of this thread. I normally just go to the last page.

So for Samsung AP set is not recommended.

Cheers.
*
In fact, it shouldn't be called AP because AP set means the warranty is provided solely by AP Company.
Those sellers just bring them in. Of course defect upon arrival/purchase he must let ppl exchange else warranty is claimed from Asus itself. So... You should call it... Maybe Nexus 7 Ori US Set tongue.gif

QUOTE(Cynox @ Nov 26 2012, 03:05 PM)
most likely can, since Singapore N7 3G users also bought it from US.  Singapore 3G is the same as ours.  But dun take my words for it.  blush.gif

btw, how can we check the 1 year warranty period start from when?  Or Google will detect it once we fire up the device the very first time and auto-register it.  tongue.gif
*
By referring to GSMARENA spec sheet, Nexus 7 is pentaband, in fact most of the newer cell phone is using pentaband which is:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100

It's not like the old times where there's 2 version of cell phone for different region.

BUT!!! LTE still channel specific, according to region. The further the development goes, soon you'll see phones that covers all band for LTE then LTE phone become international usable version laugh.gif

Nexus 7 tak ada LTE, only 3G

If you want free one, try file expert. With pc you can access either through browser or setup FTP and use FTP. FTP is 100000% more stable than using browser (HTTP) in my opinion wink.gif

naa i dont know about that. maybe its your luck. They replaced benny888's Nexus 7 on the spot due to motherboard fried up. You might get that too, who knows.
*
I don't think it's on the spot. They need to troubleshoot and evaluate what's wrong first before they give you 1-to-1.

I think Uncle Benny case also not 1-to-1 on the spot. If they do 1-to-1 for all RMA case, they rugi A LOT.

Then why not a removable dock? Can take out and bring with you to shopping or just leave it in glove box to deter thieves.

EDIT: Question is though... how to connect sound system through a 3.5mm connector?
