you won't be able to get such good result with Sketchbook on iPad 3. The WACOM layer is godsend for illustrator.

Power saving mode dimmer screen only works with stock browser, not Chrome...eyes pain reading in dark. Another option is to invert the colors..Settings> > Accessibility> Turn ON Accessibility Shortcut. Whenever need to read in dark, hold Power Button> Accessibility> Negative Colours. Wanted to use S-Voice but will wake up everyone. iOS bit simpler by tripple clicking Home button. Maybe I ll look for a widget or app to toggle that easily, anyone know any?

Li-ion can be charged anytime and as long as you like, battery will stop charging after full by itself. In fact, if you leave it connected continuously it will prolongs the battery life because the battery cycles are preserved. The only drawback of this is waste electricity lor.
