I've got the XBA-4 paired with the Walkman Z and the EX-510 with my laptop through a Fiio E17:) Been using them over a year and no complaints
Now I'm curious what the new XBAs have over the old ones hmm.gif

Really wondering what the XBA series sound like. Was thinking of replacing my ex300 with the new iPhone compatible one.

How's the 510?I had the 500 but it was a bit too sibilant, and not even the sibilance I like.

It has great amounts bass, I auditioned it a while back.
Not really to my liking though, despite being a fan and former owner of a Future Sonics Atrio. tongue.gif

I forgot what I auditioned...maybe it was the XB30. hmm.gif

Stronger in the Beats I think, but too much bleed into the mids, it ruins the atmosphere. Like having a kick drum close to your face.
It can happen sometimes in the XB but not as severe.

BASS? Two new bass monster I'm thinking of... JVC new TRI-dynamic and also Denon Dual-Dynamic...

Sony is too much.. typical. Like I am listening to the TV. LOL. Too familiar.

Meaning? The Sony's i used to have are the ones around RM80, and also EX-600. I don't know, but EX600 sounds so familiar like the sound coming out from Sony's TV set. Maybe it's just my perception. Sony doesn't have any specific strength on any frequency, no bass boost to my ears, no ultra sweet mids (the mids are great anyway), and no treble spike. Comfortably wide soundstage and most of all, COMFORTABLE!

For bass, I'm waiting to listen JVC HA-FXZ200 and also Denon AH-C300.

Because EX is for monitoring, so no ajinomoto is added to the song tongue.gif

Bass you can try XB series, I heard XB-700 and XB-1000 is bass monster, not sure cause never audition.

Personally I feel that the XB series have bloated bass. That's to my ears (maybe it's just me).
