4.2 OTA update has not released to yakju build yet....only takju
there is no such thing as prefect kernel......u nid to test it urself...

u can try Lean kernel, Trinity Kernel and Franco kernel
*
Okay. Give me a link for that thread. I want to try. But if i install others kernel, can i rollback to stock kernel? Then how?

QUOTE(LiMi @ Nov 20 2012, 10:12 AM)
basically i dont see the need to go 4.2 yet

quite a number of bugs, some said slower performance, maybe some app incompatibilities...

im on 4.1.2, with 4.2 gapps. It already FEELS/WORKS like 4.2 laugh.gif
*
How to flash 4.2 gapps? Give me a link please.

QUOTE(monocle @ Nov 20 2012, 10:20 AM)
Which Kernel is good for you it depends individually..
By looking at the bugs on 4.2, i guess just maintain at 4.1..
*
I know its depends individually, as now im still new to this phone so i need some riview from old gnex user. Its easy to me to flash it. :-)

If i remembered correctly, you will have to go to Settings>Apps>All and look for Google Services Framework (Tap on it and clear data)
*
Still same. No update shown.

Should be? I'm a noob as well biggrin.gif

All i know is to use GNex Toolkit to unlock bootloader, root, install recovery and isntall busybox.

Only then I start flashing ROMs and Kernels using recovery biggrin.gif

You'll need root to control the kernel options.
*
Okay. I got it. Now my bootloader is unlocked since i got this phone yesterday. So can i skip a step to unlock bootloader and proceed to next step to root, install recovery and busybox?

from your reply, u seems like rushing into things..

first time flashing i guess?

if i were you i'll just use the phone for few days, and read up more.

just my 2 cents
*
Im not rushing to this thing. Just to get a little guide for myself and make me easy to root or do anything wiht my phone later.
Now, i will just using current stock. Anyway, thanks for advice bro. I really appreciate that. Maybe im too excited now. Hahaha

Easiest to use is GNex Toolkit. Don't go use other tool to root or whatever.
*
I will remember that. One question, no need any file to root? Just use gnex toolkit and its automatically root a phone?

then nth much u can do but only wait..

Google just started rolling out Yakju 4.2 OTA update...but not all getting at the same time

v9.1 is the latest as i rmb...

read some info the 1st page.....it should give u some basic idea ...

if not understand, then only ask agn laugh.gif
*
Thanks. Ive read about gnex toolkit from xda developers page. The newest version same as u mention above.

QUOTE(xzilem @ Nov 20 2012, 04:53 PM)
Actually, the easiest way to do thing with nexus is via adb xD.

Flash custom recovery (twrp recommend) then you're good to go.
*
Adb? Donno what it is. Blur! Haha o_O

QUOTE(liquid_ooze @ Nov 20 2012, 06:33 PM)
Maybe yours is yakjuxw, which wont be getting the update for weeks to come..

Convert to takju, the one with Google Wallet option / Google Play Store version, then you'll get the 4.2 update..
*
How to check my gnex is takju or yakju build? I looked at map app and it show my build is yakju. Not yakjuxw. Maybe stil no update available for now. Just wait. :-)
