UTP and UTM well known for engineering varsity? really?..i should check em out..anyway poilam..this is jus my opinion..
isnt graduate with cgpa 3.5 to 3.6 a first class hnrs? im sure thats quite impressive tho.but anyhoo..there have been some buzz around regarding the future prospect in th OnG industry. if im not mistaken, reading from wt uve posted, u seem to be worried wit ur qualification as a graduate from USM, trying start a carreer in the OnG industry..at the same time trying to compete wit graduates from eg. UTP or UTM? thats rite innit? wit the economic slowing down, trying to pick up slowly, most companies in the OnG are reducing the number of new employments, depending on the companies policy. even the likes of Petronas are reducing the number of new intakes. some of them DONT RETRENCH, they jus reduce amt of emplyment. so to cut to the chase wit ur thots, it's a good thing if u pursue ur masters in UTP. plus i have many friends studying there and graduatin later on wit a Master's degree would really give u the advantage when u go out and apply for a job later on. but of course u need to gather urself rm 30k..but the down lo will be no experience of course.. OR from wut ive heard from people from the indsutries, u cud work first wit services companies who have contract with the top OnG (Petronas/Shell/Exxon) for some 2 to 3 yrs for eg SLB, Baker, Hallibur etc and after that apply back to those top OnG comp as ive mentioned above. it wil also give u much advantage in terms of experience in the OnG industry or u cud oso give a shot applying to any OnG companies. either ways work.hehe. but from me point of view, i wud prefer to work first upon graduation.i jus think having the experiences wrking gives a bit advantage,.. anyway good luck mate~ This post has been edited by arriffuddin: Mar 21 2009, 04:13 PM |
