Hi seniors, i am going to graduate in this year October and eager to join an oil & gas company. Which company provides fresh graduate opportunities ? as i came across a lot O&G companies, they will only look for experienced workers (correct me if I'm wrong).

By the way, I have degree of Instrumentation Science and Master degree of Control System. Do you guys think I'm eligible for O&G companies?
Thank you for helping!

All sifus,

I'm a recent graduate from MSc Control System and gained my BSc Instrumentation a year ago. I wish to get into Oil and Gas field which i think is very challenging and exciting working environment. Any companies out there are hiring at the moment? I wish to join as a graduate since i have no working experience and hand-on experiences. Thanks for advices

Finally I have finished off all the posts in 170pages. It's amazing, very informative and constructive advices.

well, i did post a few question early day (Before graduate), many thanks to those who replied my questions. I was recently graduated from MSc(Eng)Control System (which is emphasis on system modelling and control design) and BSc(hons)Instrumentation (Sorry to mention again, easier to those didnt follow the previous posts), and my questions are:

1. Previous advices, I should rather join Yokagawa, Emerson likes company in order to gain more experiences before joining OnG industries. What is the role and job scope of an Instrumentation and control system engineer in OnG? act as process engineer? Do Instrumentation and control system engineer have the opportunity to work offshore?

2. I love to working offshore (very challenging and exciting environment) or hand-on practical experience rather than work in office designing (which is contrast to my qualifications), and willing to learn. Do i need to undertake short course in order to fullfill my dream? is there any short course out there ?

3. As come across the posts, in order to have bright future in OnG, and have the most of knowledge regarding oil field, work in service company is the better option compare to consultant. Is that right? Normally consultant company seldom hire fresh grads, am i right?

4. Should fresh grad apply for the job require years experiences? since freshgrad should keep on trying their luck on applying job? will this actions will lead to bad impression to the HR ppl?

5. I wish to join as a Graduate in OnG company, since i have no experience and wish to have extensive of training, but lots of the companies stated in this thread hire specific position. Any recomendation company for graduate position? except SHELL,EXXON, PETRONAS, Schlumberger, Baker Huges, BJ, Haliburton....
(failed during SRD for a position of Global solution graduate, sad..sad.gif )

6. Anyone work in MOX? How was the working environment?graduates will be trained? how much the pay for fresh?

Thank you for the helping hand and correct me pls if i have written something wrong in my post.
Many thanks and your feedbacks are deeply appreciated

I was called last week, but due to some incident, I had postpone the interview to noon, however, they didnt call me back. I found out that my cellphone was in crazy mode, sometime can call in, sometime not. Maybe they did call me, but couldnt get thru.

Anyway, i tried to call back. but no one pick up the calls. Any help to me? maybe i can email them and rearrange the phone interview.
Thanks

anyone working in Swift energy? How was the working environment there?

I'm fresh graduate who wish to join oil n gas industry badly, and my background is control and instrumentation. I think it is very hard to get noticed by the big player, even interview opportunity also hard to get. they seem like just interested in experienced engineer. Been sending about 50+ applications.....for 3months

any advice for new bird like me? any comments are deeply appreciated.

To be frank, is that my background is very hard to land myself an oil n gas job? compare to those mechanical engineer? or i should just change my career field instead?
