Will, Security Technology (IT) fresh grads get a chance to enter Oil & Gas industry? If yes, will we be able to get high pay?

I'll be going for internship next month and was offered a place at ExxonMobil but had to turn it down because I had already gotten a place at F-Secure. Did I make a bad decision here? Will it be easier to get into ExxonMobil by going through the internship?

What kinda jobs (if any) do IT grads do in the offshore rigs?

I hope someone will be kind enough to give me some answers.

I'm a security major and F-Secure is a security company so my skills would best serve them rather than ExxonMobil but I still wish I could get into Exxon later on after my internship.

The only reason why I'd like to enter ExxonMobil or any other Oil & Gas company would be because of the fat paycheck that comes with the job. I know there are some jobs in the O & G industry that doesn't pay much but I'd like to be optimistic.

Are you an engineering grad? Do you know if SLB is taking IT grads?

But SLB only take programmers right? or do they take people for other IT related jobs like network engineer as well?

I heard that ExxonMobil pays its IT workers (permanent) the same rate that is offered in any other non O&G company in KL? Is this true?
