very hard to say like that, need to work in all those companies then only can know and they are all different areas.

baker atlas' wireline, i'm not too sure, but should be comparable to slb wireline, pretty good money for fresh grad since you get a % of the job ticket (so largely dependent on location as well, pricing is not standard). but crazy hours sometimes.

western geco, you get to travel everywhere on seismic ships, or seismic trucks, but you get kinda like a regular rotation. I think 1 guy here in the forum can tell u more.

exxon-mobil, huge company, depends on which position you get. but i heard good benefits.

The list of companies on the first post are all locally based? As in, they can be based in Malaysia?

biggrin.gif hehe... actually geotechnician is more like a support for geoscientist... responsible in data compiling and make sure tat data is in the right format before being sent to the customers, while geoscientists are more to data aquisition, processing and interpretation.... u're right that geoscientist is better than geotechnician.... tongue.gif more chances to go abroad for trainings and work on vessel....

Personally, I have not met a Western Geco Geoscientist who was hired straight out of school. Typically you start off as Onboard Data Processor (OBP Engineer) and then after 3-4 years only then you move up to Field Geo position.

ok... i believe it is the same as my company's data analyst except they dont mob around but wait for us to bring back the data. Oh God, if you put me to work as data analyst, i will kill myself very soon because i had been put under training in data analyze department. It is a crazy job and the amount of data you have to look into everyday rclxub.gif
I wish those who work as geoscientist or geotechnician all the best and have fun in their job.
