Just got back from the OGA. While it's not a recruitment fair, there are some recruitment activities going on. Some of the companies have their HR people manning the booths ready to answer queries, while I saw one big local company posting various vacancies in their booth.

trd088 - I think it was UMW Oil & Gas who was openly handing out vacancies information.

heroes of earth - OGA is open to the public, just need to register at the counter by giving them your business card.

I've spent 1.5 years at Technip. My experience there confirms that if you're working in the Disciplines (mechanical, pipeline, structural etc), site work is hard to come by. Reason is that you're primarily hired to work in the office - running analyses, writing reports, producing drawings etc. Going offshore for installation or commissioning purposes is meant to be handled by those in Operations - it's their job.

Completion does not deal with radioactive substance, or explosive substances, or chemicals. Since you'll be based in Kemaman, chances are you will be at the workshop redressing, pressure testing, making up etc completion tools there.

Completions is the stage right before production can begin, completion tools are the equipments required to be installed/run-in downhole during completion.

Hope that's clearer, cheers.

QUOTE(Tfazuin @ Apr 2 2010, 02:13 PM)
There's RA source but miniscule, I haven't seen or known anyone in Wireline or Completions having cancer yet, one of them has worked for 30 years, 15 of which taking care of the RA source. That's what the radiation badge is for.

Mind sharing which aspect of completion has miniscule RA source? Not in safety valves systems, packers, flow control or downhole control valves... Maybe i missed something?
