Hi guys,
For those who do not know, Planetside 2 is a MMO FPS. It is a FPS which has no end to the match.

The game is going to be released on the 20th Nov with the closest server being either Australia or US (West). I've been lucky enough to get beta access but I was wondering if there has been anyone else interested in the game as well. Currently, the beta servers are located in either US or EU so ping does present a slight problem. However, I suspect I am lagging due to the wonderful internet service I have, TM. If anyone else has had experience with the game, please let me know.

shooter game no fun la play in high ping. even action hack&slash mmo already less fun in high ping. if the AUS server can have ping lower than 150ms ill give it a spin.

I've tried begging them to have a SEA server but chances are, it'll just be me playing. Shame really, it's a great game

erm.. I played Planetside 1 a long time ago.. never really lag.

Played Beta a few weeks ago when it started, also never really lag.
Didnt realise it was F2P till recently LOL so I'm gonna get this

The feeling of having Hundreds going to war is awesome!!
Can still remember spending 4 hours defending the last Tower we held against Vanu and NC till we got reinforced and manage to push the enemies back.

i've never played planetside 1 but damn this looks very interdasting.....

too bad SEA only have access to fugly, failed, blood sucking MMO

AUS laggy? I don't think so.. no complaints from Aussie players in Beta so far.

I have been a long time Planetside player since 2006 Never really suffer much lag. Lag isn't hard to overcome, just shoot ahead of your target, you will get the hits

omg i have already join NC. why i feel Terran weapons give more dmg than others? feel like i need to shoot them like 10 times to kill but if i get shot for 3 times i already a goner.

Heres the outline of each side's weapons strength

NC : Its slow and packs a lot of damage per shot. Their key weapon is Jackhammer.

TR : They prefer fast cycle weapons, means they have faster per shot compare to other 2 sides but each shot are lesser in damage. Their key weapon is the MCG (Mini Chaingun)

VS : They uses a lot of alien tech in their weapons and looks. So their weapon are energy based dealing damage at a normal speed but their key weapon, Lasher is another story, they "lash" multiple targets at once. VS have more advantage in vehicles as their tank hovers.

In the first Planetside, VS tanks are the only tank to be able to travel across water.

Btw, this game looks like Starcraft, just that we're the marines in first person, and look like Command and Conquer: Renegade, or can say Firefall also.

Game is launched already fyi. the ping in the oceanic server is good. not as bad as i thought. need to try NA servers.lol

been trying to download the game since last night.
tried to download using the launchpad like in beta but the new launchpad wont work on my comp.
now downloading through steam but the download speed is very slow. dunno why. before this when downloding using steam for dota2 and tf2 very smooth not like this.

I downloaded thru steam last night,by morning already finish but haven't try it yet.

Played a couple of hours on US west server,dayum, seeing streams of people attacking an objective is cool. No game breaking lag.

just started to download the game. cant wait to try it.

havent finish my download yet. dunno why the need for a new client. should just make a patch from the beta. really a pain for ppl like me with a narrow bandwidth.

Does Anyone using Macbook and play the game? I stuck at loading 98%

i think theres gender option during the char creation. EU server sure is laggier than US West,i died multiple times being shot from nowhere and enemies pop up suddenly in front of our base, i didnt tried US East yet but i think should be lag like EU too since routing and all.

i think i got the hang of flying the Venu small plane, i need to max the mouse sensitivity to control better.



I also stuck at 98% when opening the game for the first time, but i waited a bit and i got through.

Yeah i played in US West server, can feel the lag.Played until Battlerank 3 and then the game hangs on me lol.
Also the game feels like Battlefield 3, with medic/tanks/aircraft vehicle.

How come you guys are playing on EU and US when there's an Aussie server? What's the ping to the Aussie server from Sarawak/Sabah?

last time the AUS server never up and latest i see the server only got low population, so the firefight might be not so epic like in the EU and US servers, my opinion though, never really got into the AUS server.

AUS server is rubbish. Join US West instead. Lag isn't too obvious as what others said. If you want crazy fire fights, avoid AUS server entirely.

huh im in AU server. all the fight still fierce. not as rubbish as in beta.

im still new in this. half my deaths r from suicide or getting kill by allies in crossfire.

im getting weird lag on AU server, dont know if my line or the other player connection, really frustrating to see your enemy teleporting and suddenly appear out of nowhere

why are there 2 threads bout this game? 1 in Gamer Hideout and this 1 in Online Gaming?
last night i also found enemy teleporting but that time our whole platoon also saw it. so its whether that enemy is lagging or our full 4 squads platoon members lagging

This game very addictive. Combination mostly from bf, tribes, quake, halo... U name it.
currently at level 6, played at aus server. Just last night.

you guys should just try trial any weapon for 30 min for some fun, i tried the rocket pods and a2a manpads that way.

I highly suggest playing medic for that very reason. Killing ppl + revive your teammates + healing them as well = tons of exps

seriously, i dont know if im healing people or not, the only confirmation i got is when i used the suit aoe heal skill, i got some exp. but with the medic gun i seems to be shooting green laser only, no healing.

Im mostly running around in heavy and sometimes in engy when im flying, the MAX flak aa is quite good too for short range air defence, i got 1 or 2 VS scythe while playing in TR MAX

hey, where u guys hanging? not many using voip to command and most of the time, my squad scattered

im either at genudine us west Vanu or TR in AUS server. the lack of resources in continent you dont have a lot of territories sucks man

From what I experience so far as medic usually you will never get any exp when

- the guy died because of teamkill
- your ping is somewhat too high for the game to detect your healing action

And yes I'm considering getting a 2nd AA gun for the max. It's kinda easy killing those pesky mosquitoes even with one gun alone

i prefer playing as medic as well. better than dying most of the time
point and certs flow like water during heavy battle...

though i always VOIP with my team, most teams dont have ppl VOIP. some even type...
when join a team with VOIP, then the fun starts.

I abandoned that name long ago.

I'm now Superlux as NC on Briggs. Joined Gyrados team yesterday. Pretty much took back Esamir and when they change to Amerish, it's sleep time for me.

I'm still more used to VS weapons though. Especially reload speed for heavy. But NC's engineer isn't bad. Few more days I'll go back and try TR. Which I started as, but quit soon after because I felt weak =/

Still yet to choose any, wanna test power first then stay one perma with friends.

i suggest for u to try join a big outfit.
throw away the mentality of 'Fxxx platoon play who always zerg'.
in this game, you must atleast have a squad to be able to def or cap a full base.
anything smaller than a squad most of the time will only do ninja capping empty base.
yup u can squad up with couple of ur frens and fill up the squad with pubs.
but pubs usually will leave ur squad when theres a big battle and enemy force is bigger.

dont know about other factions, but if i dont see any New Conglomerate offical outfit/guild for LYN yet in AU server.
if u want to play as New Conglomerate, look for me in game and i can invite u to a good outfit/guild to role in.

lol so many NC in LYN. I personally like NC guns more even though I'm a TR. TR guns look quite boring (I love my HS1 scout rifle though)

i trying to promote more NC player because TR already receive much love.
almost all new player will go for TR after they test all factions.
i blame this on NC stock guns. its a powerful gun but might take more time for some ppl to handle.
in AU server TR is the most stable faction. their population is same all the times during peak hour or off peak hour.

been waiting for 2 weeks for another station cash promo till my cert got to almost 2k. but it seem like the next promo might be at least the end of the month or next month so i just use the cert. cert it all into my reaver.

Anyone know which LMG has good accuracy for NC? Long range accuracy for the default LMG is just too crap. Bought High Velocity Ammunition but still bleh.

just join in faction that you're most comfortable with.

i think your line got problem la. Your ping is too high and borderline cheating.
your character sometimes teleporting and your shots registered eventhough the target behind wall.
lots of NC players said that you're hacking, i tried to explain to them about your high ping unifi.
