YouTube connections to US has been Unthrottle.
Torrents has been Unthrottled.
flv, avi & all other movies file extension has been Unthrottle.

Please confirm?

Are they doing some upgrade that cause them to remove their throttled system?, Finally decided to come to their sense and stop cheating their streamyx customers? or just gave up on streamyx to "what ever will be will be"...

Un-popular Youtube Video (not cached in youtube MY yet), before throttle at 50KB/s(500kbps in youtube stats calculation) but now:

No, restart your modem/router, and all of that will be gone. It is known bug.

Are you sure, can you help to test?
Because my streamyx line has not be OFF for more then a month here and i just notice this stated today around 6am++ it's really behaving like the speed of my UniFi now rclxm9.gif

Any other streamys user reading this i would appreciate if you can help to test also.

QUOTE(matiko95 @ Oct 20 2012, 02:29 PM)
so it is true then,

hm yes, i also using streamyx, they unthrottle everything.
i using 1mb streamyx and my torrent sometimes about 120kbps~

its not normal 2 years ago where my torrent is around 40~50kbps
*
Well then i think i need to monitor for 1 week to be sure. because it may be many reason why it's working as i stated in my first post:

A) TM doing some upgrade that cause them to remove their throttled system.
B) TM finally decided to come to their sense and stop cheating their streamyx customers.
C) TM just gave up on streamyx to "what ever will be will be"...
D) TM might be doing a survey to test stuff.
E) Maybe they decided to put some happy hours or happy days in a week.

Yes I'm sure, I noticed this few months ago. Rebooted modem/router and there goes the "unthrottle".
*
But i did not restart my modem for over a few weeks now and it was not like this until today 6am, I have checked with few of my friends who use streamyx and they too have notice the change in their speed.. how do you explain that?

I noticed this like a month ago...my download was 120kbs all the way..
direct download, torrent, youtube...all smooth..^^
maybe everybody switch to unifi, streamyx slot is getting better i guess...
*
I did not check torrent for a month already so maybe they have unthrottled it a long time ago but youtube i am 100% sure only today morning it was unthrottled..

I m experiencing the same thing, unthrottled. But in my case is like, i turn off my modem every night, a morning 2 days ago, i turn on my router and i suddenly feel like trying torrent download and the speed is magically max (used to be throttled). It lasted for 2 days, this morning it goes back to throttled state again sad.gif I have tried the same seed that hit the max speed yesterday evening and it seems like throttled now.
*
Are you sure? Mine is still the same as yesterday....
Try to use uTorrent 3.1.3 and download ubuntu desktop torrent http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/alternative-downloads

yeap, port opened and  login with my long time created id,
was a bitcomet user few years ago sad.gif
btw it's only good for china/taiwan/hk trackers
for western countries tracker not good, utorrent is better

by the way, TM in my location is doing upgrades, got their calls at office and workplace (512k and 1Mbps), say we may face service  interruption during this time,  and really got random dsl disconnection today

but my home 4Mbps not affected, I bet the throttle is lifted because of this upgrade exercise
*
If they are doing upgrades in a certain area that still does not explain the lift of throttle system in many states like JB, penang and KL all have been unthrottled...

btw

I did not test the connection at the workplace so dont know if it is throttled
but I can tell you that you said you are currently unthrottled

but I'm still throttled, now have to use VPN to get max speed sad.gif

so throttling can be certain area, not really nationwide

and I was unthrottled last month for about 3 weeks
*
check your workplace torrents and Inteenational conenctioon speed with the ip range you get there.
it might be on certain accounts, areas, specific IPs or IP ranges....

Added on October 24, 2012, 10:16 pmAfter i posted my above post then around 8:30+ throttle started back on my line with the same IP i have been having for weeks... torrent, international youtube vids & direct download for video extension files were throttle to back 50kb/s so i finally decided to restart my modem then:

First new IP (after restart) was unthrottled for 20sec then it went back to being throttle.
Second IP (after using modem reconnect feature) same as the first IP
Third IP (should be fourth IP [censored due to TM spyies biggrin.gif ] ) so far unthrottle for now.

I'm guessing it might be a maintenance for throttle system after all
or.... one of the moderators here might be working for TM and decided to just add my ip back to the throttle list (but now i'm on socks proxy) tongue.gif

Well mine got throttled back on nov 1st 12am along with most of my friends so it might have been a maintenance after all... If you guys want to test if your throttled or not i have set up a site to compare the download speed between US and MY tm only throttle International connection so what ever speed you get from the MY link is your true speed:
http://downloadfiletest.tk/
during the time when it was un-throttled for me both US and MY speed were same.

Trust me now?  tongue.gif
HTTP downloads are never throttled. Further the distance, lower the speed.
*
You are wrong, the week before when i was un-throttled .flv from us speed was a straight up 540-620KB/s but now during the day or peak hour it's 20-60KB/s and after 12am to 8am or non peak hour it's 200KB/s.
You need a 4mbps line to notice the different.

I own a 4Mbps line, I never had any problem with HTTP downloads from US.

I think you misunderstood because i forgot to say certain Extension Throttle, sorry. That is why i setup this site to compare the different extension speed between US and Malaysia http://downloadfiletest.tk/

.FLV on from US (THROTTLED):

.FLV on from Malaysia (MAX SPEED):

Last week I got max speed from both .FLV file from both US and Malaysia (during Unthrottled).
