i believe many android users sync their contacts to google contact.
your contacts are safe even your phone is damage or stolen
but what if something even worst happen and you lost your gmail pw or kena hack?
then really gg, all contact gone. cry.gif
to prevent this from happening, read spoiler below.

another problem about online sync is sometimes they can really screw up.
this time is about google chrome bookmarks.
chrome sync is awesome, bookmark a page in laptop chrome, and it appears in your phone/tablet chrome as well.
but terrible accident can happen too.

my bad luck today that cause me lost all my chrome bookmarks.

luckily i got keep a backup of my bookmarks. so i cleared all my chrome data from google dashboard, and import my latest bookmarks to it and sync back to all my device. fuh...

here's how you backup your bookmarks.

so if one day your sync screw up or some weird accident happen.
you still have a backup of your backup :-)
i usually do this once a month. so glad i did if not i would have lost all my bookmarks.

its one of the worst first world problems to lose all your contacts or bookmarks
hope my post can be helpful so you guys. smile.gif
remember to backup, it only take a few clicks, and the backup file is very very small.

my god...then you are on a much more insecure situation.
lost your phone then all gone.

copy your sim card contact to your phone memory then sync it to google contact.
it wont affect your gmail also. i dont see any harm to it.
how does it make it messy?

in google contact website,
you can merge multiple contact with the same name.
example some people got more than one phone number, can merge them into one contact card.
google contact is really useful and a fast way to handle your contacts.

do it on a PC/laptop, much faster than on the phone.
it only takes less than 1 hour to tidy up about 500 contacts

my contact now all very neat. all save by real full name hehe happy.gif
not ah beng, ah lian, ah meng that kind. haha...

the last time i tried, many years ago, sim card storage very small.
and limited characters. some people name long it cannot save, need use short form
since i use symbian smart phone long ago, never depend on sim card already.
my simcard only got digi customer service and reload number. tongue.gif
