Hi......i drive a manual mirage.......i manage to get 17km/l manually counted on full tank. Based on my odo meter i get usual readings of 18km/l and without aircon i can get 20km/l...btw this is city drive not highway... (30 km traveled one way) I passed lost count of traffic lights.. From my experience from gear 1 to 3 try to change gear before 2k ...but do not change gear at very low rpm before gear 3 cause i notice underpower gear makes ur engine consumes more fuel. Average drive below 100kph will give u better FC than above 100kph...  From my experience driving above 70 will give good fc on manual... Before reaching each stop usually i will free the gear to N and let it rolls to the point i have to break.. U don need the gear on since u r stopping right.... When u want to move on 1st gear try to let ur car roll a bit by realeasing lil bit of gear so the car can roll before you accelerate.... With this you don have to accel hard. And the clutch is good in mirage cause its light and its easily controlled i can use gear 1 even without stepping the clutch after gear change..oil control pedal very good control too.... One more thing i noticed that  on gear 4 mainting rpm 1.5k give good fc don have to purposely change to gear 5 for lower fc cause this makes ur engine shivers on the underpower which consumes more fuel.... But u do need to change to gear 5 for higher speeds....
