I will make a long distance journey from JB to Seremban this Friday.. let's see what's the results of EPS & Hydraulic driving experience (I also own a Satria Neo). Might went to Bukit Putus old road to K.Pilah as well, as it's only 15 minutes drive from my in law's house.

It won't be 100% aggressive driving.. as the Mirage is not build for that. So to be fair, let's just make it a 300km of test drive session in mix conditions.

but by saving abit more fuel + easier maintaineance(BTW my power steering was never serviced before)
and took away the fun factor...i dn't think is worthed
if there was 2 identical car, same spec...only difference is hydraulic power steering and EPS
no doubt in my mind, i would take hydraulic

Yea, EPS does make the steering feel like a playstation steering controller, the feeling is so numb it feels separated from the wheels. That said, if you are stuck in a jam or navigating a car park, you'll be grateful for the light steering.

The only EPS steering I've driven that is almost as heavy as a hydraulic steering is the Swift's, which kinda defeats the purpose of the EPS.

I cant agree more. Just felt that the tyre owned me instead of I control the tyre. Seriously, not much choice, all new car nowadays come with EPS. biggrin.gif

To all the owner of mirage,

Just wondering do u guys exprience the petrol pump automatically stop at around 24 / 21 liter although i calculated it to be exactly 29 liter from the number of bars left in the petrol meter

Do u guys pump 97 or 95? found 95 to be less fuel efficient while 97 give better performance and fc.

just wondering though.

when u pump, is your tank empty or what?
becuz the owner's manual say that when u reach the last bar....its around 6 liter left
when it starts blinking mean 3 liter
i didn't test it becuz when i got my car, the fuel tank got some fuel inside already..so i can't really test

bro please update me as well.
Cant tell them hold the money and wait till the stock come and then baru take ur car pasang?
their flier went whole Malaysia stating the accessories, I don't think they will just cancel it all.

Does your acc. amount add into loan?? or pay separately by cash?

hmmm...my SA didnt mention anything about the issue with accessories...need to recheck with him since i my loan is still pending..
mine, they include the amount for accessories together into loan so easier...need to ask your SA whether can manage that or not..

i think the issue with accessories is true, so in my case maybe i'll have to wait long for my car to arrive since it suppose to be fully accessorized..

i think i know what is the problem with you getting that kind or experience driving a cvt car..
currently i drive a manual and sometimes drive my wife's auto myvi...and to me cvt combined the best of both..
i enjoy driving (well, test driving mostly) cvt car, preve, saga flx se and now mirage...and so mirage so far give me the best cvt driving pleasure..

no jerk, no pull-back and no rubber band effect also...on all cvt car that i drive...yes, including preve...
i think the technique is to drive the car casually, patiently and let the momentum of car to push the car forward...that always my style of driving, no rush, relax and i always drive in econ mode...that's why i think i can achieve that 21km/L or maybe better...only in emergency je i drive like F1 driver..

i think the rubber band effect occur becos u pedal hard to push the car forward...
the jerking and pull back occur maybe becos after u pedal then u release a bit, then pedal, release...i think u need to always maintain contact with the pedal, only release when u want to decelerate...

to me cvt is the best la...

i'm suppose to be getting my car early of the week but, still tendering for number. most probably, this friday i'll get. the accessories, it wasnt included in my loan. i paid the accessories in cash. have to wait for abt 2 weeks more for the accessories to arrive. my SA told me to just take the car. once the accessories sampai, he'll call, car masuk bengkel then pasang the accessories.

i am on last bar, i read the manual it say if blinking mean 6 liter or less, without blinking it is on 9 liter or less so it is about 35 - 9 around 26 liter, the petrol just auto stop on 21/24 i guess the nozzle are a little small causing the sensor to pick up earlier than conventional cars. just my thought tho.

not sure if that is the case, any car sifu here care to highlight? icon_question.gif

anyway one more thing i noticed, when i pump 50 ringgit of petrol it shown only 24.xx liter on the pump instead if it is equally divided by 1.9 over 50 it should have been 26.31 liter. is this normal or just the petrol sation i patronize is over charging. vmad.gif

they might have tempered with the meter..thats why.....petrol station will do anything to give u less/gain more profit

japanese one higher than us is becuz their engine is a 1.0L engine, not a 1.2L engine
and their engine is equipped with AS&G
if our 1.2L engine is equipped with AS&G, if not wrong...our stated FC is 25KM/L..i read somewhere

and BTW...i think my FC will be ~500KM for whole tank
cuz i'm not used to the CVT....sometime over-revved...the RPM will fluctuate up and down wildly
and sometime have to maintain around 2.5-3k RPM for quite sometime

there are things like auto fold side mirror, auto stop and go, eco sign and esp on/off that are missing from malaysia's mirage...to me, i really like auto fold side mirror and auto stop and go to be available for my mirage...
since they can take out those features, for sure they can put it back also right? u guys think we can make like a hardware upgrade for our mirage so they can have those features...

btw, just sign aggrement for grey mica mirage with full accessories..accessories included in loan amount..2.5% with Hong Leong..

auto fold side mirror, eco sign...definitely they cut it
AS&G are only available in some only...not sure which
ESP however will only be available in australian model..other asian country will not have
auto fold side mirror easy, go accessories shop can be done
eco sign i think if the ppl in mitsu have, they can actually program it into the ECU
the AS&G however isn't so easy
